[Sci-fi] Containment

Got an awesome creation that you'd like to share with the community? We want to see it! This is also where to post your WIPs and techniques to brainstorm with other builders.

[Sci-fi] Containment

Postby Nannan » Wed Jun 16, 2010 3:28 pm

Hey guys,
Tyler and I are pleased to present a collaboration project, our best work so far.

Image

This diorama measures over 6 feet by over 5 feet, and we have been working on it for the past two months. Tyler built the alien wasteland, and I made the biosphere processing facility.

My favorite aspects of this build are the details that bring life to this creation including lights, motion, and even music that comes from built-in iPod speakers. You can see most of it in this video. If you're coming to Brickworld, you can experience it all in person.

We hope you enjoy Containment. You can see all photos in the Containment Flickr group.

This is unbelievable! I can't think of any way to describe how awesome this is. There are so many great details! The building is extremely well made, especially the machinery, and I love everything around it too.

Dear lord! How much did this mind-blowing piece of work cost to make?
I build it so you don't have to!

Wait is that thing motorized or did you use stop motion?

Yeah, if that's not worth a front-page feature, I'm honestly not sure what is.
If the above post didn't offend you, you're probably reading it wrong.

I would disagree about frontpaging it here because it's not in the scope of licensed themes... but I'm not going to complain about it either.

It's excellent. All the details are just...wow. I don't have the time or space (or the bricks) to create something like that. I think that three words to describe it will be as follows: BEST. IN. SHOW.

It also reminds me of the processing station in Galaxy Quest and I want to look for the rock monster. :D

All expected comments aside, what song is that you're using in the video? I likes it.

It was incredible seeing this with my own eyes at Brickworld. My friend and I were amazed at the actual size of this. Congratulations on a job well done.
