Toy Fair 2010

The FBTB flickr account is being injected with my photos from the Collector's Event this morning. I'll be creating a Features page to make it easier to navigate once the upload is done. In the meantime, you can dial your browser to the stream to see uploads as they go. I apologize, but the hotel wifi isn't the fastest. I miss my home connection.

I still say it looks like the Wampa is getting funky, but I'm sure it's just the pose. I didn't notice the printing and fine detail on before, which makes it look a lot less like the Abominable Snow Monster from Rudolf, but the pose could be better. Also looks like his arms are hollow, which looks weird. I still think $40 is a rip, but I might get it.

I have mixed feelings on the Harry Potter stuff, which are things I'm greatly looking forward to, having been an HP fan but only getting "back" into LEGO after most of the HP stuff had already been done. The castle looks like it might be the best one yet.

The Hogwarts Express Train... best one yet, but still so disappointing after the Emerald Night. The really took the low-road on that one, IMO. I can understand why they wouldn't make a $150 Hogwarts Express on par with the Emerald Night, but I would have preferred one like that over what they are releasing, and I'm not sure I'll be interested enough to get it. The Burrow is just "The Burrow" not "Burrows," and it looks nothing like the Burrow. The colors are terrible. Looks pretty good for the price, though, so it'll be on my list.

Hagrid's Hut... if you're still there and getting pictures, can I see the box? The inside looks great.

And... well.. I've never been a big fan of quidditch.

The Prince of Persia stuff looks great; I'm not a huge fan of the series, and haven't seen the movie (of course), but the Battle of Alamut set looks like a must have for me.

Edit: added the Slave 1 pics... another on my list; Papatine's Shuttle is a maybe.

Thanks for the pics, Ace. It's always worth waiting for your photos rather some of the other ones. The detail and play features are much more apparent now! I thought I loved the current Slave I but this one looks even better. Still can't properly work out what's going on with the missiles in the compartment just by the cockpit though. Grevious looks great; as long as he becomes white!!

The World Racers sets look much much better than I was expecting as well.

Great pictures. Alot of the figures look alot better now then the previous pictures showed. The best being of course The Fett Man. Slave 1 in general looks amazing, I give Lego a round of applause for this model.
I'm rather interested in Grievous's new design. Definatly better looking then the previous version.
The Wampa is also looks alot better now then it previously did.

On another note, I will have to do a 'heat and bend' to fix the head on grevious...just looks a little too stuck out for my taste. And now that Ace sort of confirmed the new AT-AT rumors, I am dying to see pics of that one.

Yeah, the pics are great, thanks for posting them. Lego has really upped their game with the new Boba Fett and General Grievous minifigs. I can't get over the amount of detail they put into the Fett helmet. There's at least 5 paint colors in addition to the base plastic color. That's crazy! I'd love to get a white Fett, but with only 150 made, it's a wallet killer.

Superb picture taking Ace. Most interesting detail for me was the slightly different helmet on the clone pilot that comes with the shuttle. General Grievous looks pretty good, though I'd prefer him in white...

I was disappointed in a lot of the Canadian prices though, $160 for the CTT is ridiculous and $110 for a slightly remade Slave I with 3 minifures is obscene.
