  • The Clone Wars: “The General”

Clone Wars Preview: Episode 8 - The General

Clone Captain Rex has been given the impossible task of marching his troops overland through a ravine bottleneck in a frontal attack against an Umbaran airbase. Though he disagrees with his commanding officer’s tactics, Rex is devoted to his duty.

The preview video for the next episode of The Clone Wars is up. Check it out, and then watch “The General” this Friday night.

  • LEGO & Costuming: What’s The Connection?

    LEGO Star Wars Stormtrooper Helmet

With Halloween just around the corner, I thought I’d take a look at LEGO’s influence on the costuming world or lack there of some might say. I had planned on doing this earlier in the month in the off chance it might inspire someone desprately looking for a unique costume they could dazzle their geeky friends with, but obviously that didn’t happen. For some folks though Halloween is just an excuse to wear a costume one more day of the year, so this is for all the cosplayers out there looking for a way to stand out in the crowd.

  • Site Overhaul Ahead

    FBTB Redesign

FBTB will be undergoing a slight transformation scheduled during the month of November. I made a forum post about it and rather than repeat myself, I’ll just link directly to the post. I’ve listed my gripes about the current blog format and how the mockup addresses those issues. Drop in and leave your comments, suggestions, praises and criticisms.

  • 21010 Robie House Price Drop

The price for 21010 Robie House continues to drop on Amazon.com. As I type this, it is now listed at $148.99, netting you a 26% discount off of MSRP of $199.99.

Hat tip to Brickset for the news.

  • Amazon Price Matches Toys’R’Us

Amazon marked down a few LEGO Star Wars sets to price match against Toys’R’Us current Cyberweek deals. However, they don’t offer a free MINI Vulture Droid or a tankless Astronaught glued magnet, but they do offer free shipping and no tax to most states.

In addition to the above deals, Amazon has a pretty good price on 4184 The Black Pearl as well, $84.99 down from MSRP $99.99.

  • Minifig Scale Tumbler

    Tumbler

I love the Tumbler, Batman’s kick-ass vehicle from Batman Begins and Dark Knight. Not only for it’s complex lines and aggressive posture, but from it’s concept as a converted military prototype. True that a vehicle of such special purpose and limited use would be unlikely to ever make it to prototype form…BUT IT’S SO COOL! This version by Flickr user ZetoVince captures everything I dig about it, and does so at pretty accurate scale and with excellent technique.
