Black Friday Deals

Black Friday Shopping

Update 2: Updated Toys’R’Us; added Barnes and Noble, Kmart

Update: Added Toys’R’Us, Meijer, Overstock

Just like last year, I’ll be compiling all of the Black Friday deal that mentions LEGO into one post. Forum member ufjason already started a thread about it and from the looks of it, there aren’t any wallet-breaking deals that are worth going after. I’ll be updating this list as more ads come in so keep an eye out.

Target Sale

Target is having a sale on some LEGO sets. Discounts vary from set to set, but there are a two notable item: the Gunship above for $39.99, down from $49.99, and 7877 Naboo Stafighter for $32.99, down from $49.99. Don’t forget, if you’re a Target card carrying member, you’ll get an additional 5% off. You can also use coupon code TGTBBF10 for an additional 10% off. I’m not sure if those stack.

In addition to the online deals, this is the season for Target store clearances on LEGO to make room for the summer waves so keep your eyes peeled and your wallets full.

Thanks go to Jazz and ufjason.

Review: 7930 Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship

7930 Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship

This review has been a few months in the making. I actually wrote the first draft back in January of this year and at the time actually enjoyed the Clone Wars-inspired set and thought highly of it. I just failed to take any pictures until recently. So with a fresh perspective, I decided to rewrite the review. But after a 9 month hiatus, does the Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship stand the test of time?

LEGO VIP Promotions for August, Sales & Deals Updated

Imperial Shuttle

LEGO Shop @ Home has some new deals for the month of August.

>>100 VIP Bonus Points when you buy a 10212 Imperial Shuttle

>>75 VIP Bonus Points when you buy a 4645 City Harbor

>>50 VIP Bonus Points when you buy a:

    -7930 Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship
    -7641 City Corner
    -7597 Western Train Chase

In addition, they’ve added a bunch of stuff to the Sales & Deals section, but don’t get too excited. Most of it is hovering around 10-30%, and the items that have been in there for a while are still about the same price. Notable exceptions are the Toy Story and Female Minifigure magnet sets for $3.48 each. I am pretty sure are from the last wave of magnets before they started getting glued. About $1 a figure is nothing to sneeze at.

Free jetpack

And finally, spend $35 US/ £25 UK or more and get a free Alien Conquest Jetpack polybag.

Announcing The Hybridfighter Contest

Hybridfighter Contest

Yes, I am a little behind in site responsibilities, and I have prizes to pick and prizes to send out, but this contest takes precedence for reasons that will be revealed quite soon. So, without further ado, I’d like to formally announce April’s building challenge: The Hybridfighter Contest. It’s a new name on an old theme. The Star Wars universe refers to them as Ugly fighters (Wookiepedia: Ugly):

An Ugly was any type of starfighter that had been cobbled together out of parts that had been salvaged from varying origins, including crashed starfighters and ex-military surplus.

Interested? Hit up the contest thread for more information and to see submissions from our previous Ugly contest.

    >>7929 The Battle of Naboo $20.24 (MSRP $24.99)
