This comes to us via our Star Wars discord channel via an io9 article via multiple sources around the web: Rosario Dawson is cast as Ahsoka Tano and will appear in the second season of The Mandalorian.
This started as a rumor but with THR and Variety not using the word “rumor” in their reporting, io9 removed the word from their headline. I’d say it’s a pretty safe bet but until something comes out of Lucasfilm’s mouth it’s not really that official.
I’m going to sound like a broken record, but I haven’t watched The Clone Wars yet, so I don’t really have a horse in this race. It’ll be interesting to see how the fans react to all this when she finally makes her D+ debut. Not casting Ashley Eckstein, the voice of Ahsoka in the cartoons, seems like a serious misstep bordering on disservice to the fans and to the character. I get the feeling that Rosario, as capable of an actor as she is, has some big shoes to fill. I’m just excited at the fact that there’s going to be a Force-user on the show, and one that will know just how significant Baby Yoda is.
