[CAN] 20% Off Select Star Wars Sets + Free LEGO Pens

7961 - Sith Infiltrator Set pic and figures

Toys R Us Canada has some select Star Wars LEGO sets on for a whopping 20% off right now including 7961 Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator, 7959 Geonosian Starfighter and the still horribly overpriced 10215 Obi-Wan’s Jedi Starfighter. All the LEGO and other Star Wars books are also on for 20% off if you didn’t get your medal ceremony Luke & Han for the holidays. The only real bonus is you can get a free Star Wars LEGO buildable pen if you spend $35 or more on those and other select sets.

They’re also offering 25% off of all LEGO electronics and 50% off of some choice LEGO games. Time for me to go looking for that Boba Fett alarm clock.

Walmart’s Got Bundles of Bundles

LEGO Star Wars Building Set 3-Pack Bundle

Walmart has online deals going this week on several bundles, including Star Wars, Harry Potter, City, and Ninjago.  You can even customize your own “bundle” and score 2 for $20, 2 for $30, 2 for $40, 2 for $50, or 2 for $60.  Though not exactly a door-buster-type deal, this is a great way to take the edge off of some of those smaller kits, or add a few bonuses onto a larger purchase (like the Millennium Falcon, Imperial V-wing, and Mando Pack bundle for $139.97).

Thanks to forum user GrayMattR for the tip.

Amazon Price Matches TRU

If you’re not keen on paying sales tax and want to take advantage of the (almost) 25% off sale at TRU, you should head on over to Amazon.com where they’ve price matched the same sets that are on sale at TRU. I just browsed a few sets, but I’m guessing all of them apply. The only drawback is that Amazon doesn’t carry the TRU exclusives, obviously, like the Toys’R'Us Truck, Skeleton Bowling, etc. Here’s the complete list of what’s on sale:

Amazon also has some $20 sets still marked down to $15:

There may be more, but these are the ones I can think of right now.

Also, I wanted to mention that the very excellent Alien Conquest 7066 Earth Defence HQ is currently priced at $71.99, netting you a savings of 20%.

Oddly enough, some things aren’t price matched like Star Wars 7965 Millennium Falcon and City 4643 Boat Transporter (they’re $112.49 and $29.99 at TRU, respectively), but they may eventually catch up and mark them down.

Review: 7961 Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator

Sith Infiltrator and Minifigs

For most people, Darth Maul and pretty much everything he did was the highlight of Episode I. Red tattooed face? Check. Horns? Check. Double-bladed lightsaber. A million-times checked. If he would have been used in more of the movie, and had more than a couple of lines, he would have washed away the assault on our eyes and ears that was Jar-Jar Binks, but sadly, that was not the case.

What little we did see of him, outside of the very epic Lightsaber Duel, was his ship, the Sith Infiltrator. Long ago, George Lucas figured out that putting Sith in front of anything was a sure-fire way to sell merchandise. Sith Pancake Syrup? I bet there are people reading this right now that are thinking about checking Google to see if that really exists. So here we are, with LEGO testing us to see if we’re willing to fork money because they put out another Sith Infiltrator.

Summer Star Wars Sets Available, Sort Of

The summer Star Wars assortment is now available for purchase through Shop@Home IF you live in Belgium, Denmark, and a few other select European nations. Not sure why all of Europe isn’t included yet, but it may just be a bit of a programming delay. Hopefully the US won’t be far behind.
