A Meijer Deal

Meijer’s got some deals going on that you should be aware of. First up, they’ve discounted two sets: 79111 Constitution Train Chase from the Lone Ranger line is discounted $30 down to $69.99, and 9516 Jabba’s Palace is also seeing a flat $30 discount down to $89.99. Secondly, if your cart total adds up to $149 or more, you will automatically receive an additional $30 off your total, $15 if your total is $99 or more. Shipping is free to your local Meijer store if you’re lucky enough to live near one. Otherwise, it looks like they charge a flat $7.99. Two Jabba’s Palace sets, with tax and shipping for me living in California came out to 171.47. Obviously, you’ll save more if you live in a state with no tax and/or can get the free shipping. This beats Amazon’s current price for the palace by about 6 bucks for me anyway. And no, we’re not affiliated with Meijer, just passing the good deal along. Happy shopping!

Amazon, Shop@Home Sells Full Lone Ranger Line

This happened a few days ago but I finally have some time to catch up. If you’ve been trying to get your hands on what looks to be a fantastic Lone Ranger line, you can pick up the full line or just the ones you want from both Amazon and LEGO Shop@Home. The prices are the same no matter which site you shop from. Amazon doesn’t charge tax to most states. Amazon has free shipping on orders $25 or more, free with no minimum if you’re a Prime member; Shop@Home will ship for free at $75 or more but you also get VIP points. You can’t lose no matter which option you pick, so pick your poison and play well:

The Lone Ranger Box Official Box Art

79108 - 3

In case you’ve forgotten what the official box art looks like for the The Lone Ranger sets, here they are. The three sets I’m looking forward to are 79108 Stagecoach Escape pictured above, 79109 Colby City Showdown, and 79110 Silver Mine Shootout. But mostly the Stagecoach set because it’s awesome.

The Lone Rangers Videos Explode Onto Youtube

The last of the set videos to included Erik Varszegi’s demonstations cover the new Lone Ranger theme. When I first saw these sets I was underwhelmed to say the least, but after seeing them in person with Erik’s demos I’ve changed my tune. These are the rootin’-est, tootin’-est, explodin’-est, horse on a hot train roof sets I’ve seen and I want them all. On the same note, based on all the great play features and the thought of all these wild west explosions on screen, I have even less interest in seeing the film. Watch the videos and see for yourself.

Hi-yo, Silver! Away!

Lone Ranger Fully Loaded

79111 Constitution Train Chase 1

We just finished uploading all of our Lone Ranger photo assets (video is still to come!). With tons of play features (read as: exploding things), this series really does pay homage well to the old Wild West theme from a few years back, and provides excellent play opportunity for the little Michael Bay in all of us. There are a total of five sets ranging in price from the $12.99 79106 Cavalry Builder Set all the way up the $99.99 79111 Constitution Train Chase set. The absolute gem in the theme? Without a doubt, 79108 Stagecoach Escape.

79110 Silver Mine Shootout 1 79109 Colby City Showdown 1
79108 Stagecoach Escape 1 79107 Comanche Camp 1
79106 Cavalry Builder Set 1

We’ll be back after a short dinner break with Lord of the Rings and the non-licensed IPs.

Marcos Bessa’s Constitution Train Chase

79111 LEGO The Lone Ranger - Constitution Train Chase

Not sure if I should post this under MOC Spotlight or not, but that’s basically what it is. If you haven’t gotten a good look at The Lone Ranger’s 79111 Constitution Train Chase, head on over to Marcos’ Flickr page and check it out. I have to admit, I might have to shoot for a review of this one after talking a close look. Let Marcos know how you think he’s doing if you’re so inclined, I think those comments should be pretty positive overall. I really like knowing who designed what and while that might not be a good thing in some cases, I think Marcos is off to a great start. Well played!
