As Force Friday and the eventual release of The Force Awakens in December draws nearer, more and more previews and rumors start flying around. This week, we get a couple of exclusive covers from Empire showing off the First Order and the Resistance. Not a whole lot of new information here, but it sure does look cool (via io9).

Empire Force Awakens

Our three big-bads are fairly established right now… Phasma, General Hux, and Kylo Ren and his goofy lightsaber. They’re keeping Phasma details pretty well under wrap, so you have to assume there’s some sort of surprise in store for us with her character (much the same way that we don’t know much about Kylo other than his name really isn’t Kylo).

Resistance Force Awakens

Our resistance cover features Rey, Finn, and a pilot we know very little about other than he showed up on the set images that we’re not supposed to know about, Poe. The Falcon is also hanging around, with BB-8, but curiously, Han and Chewie are absent. We get a little blurb about the Force being strong in the family, but it could be any of the three being alluded to here.

Anakin Skywalker

In unrelated and far more bizarre news, the Social Security Administration revealed it’s annual list of the 1000 most popular baby names, and debuting at number 957 this year was “Anakin.” Look, I’m not one to question a kid’s name, but I’m totally one to judge the parents who name their kid after a villain and badly-acted hero. I guess we should be glad that the kids weren’t named Jar-Jar (via Yahoo).
