Following up on the massive leak over the weekend, The LEGO Group sent over the official assets for their next D2C set, 71040 The Disney Castle. When I first saw the images, I mistakenly assumed the set was going to be called “Cinderella’s Castle” then became puzzled when I saw the minifig selection since it didn’t include Cinderella. But it all makes sense now that I know it’s called “The Disney Castle”. The Disney Castle set comes with five minifigs: Donald, Daisy, Minnie, Mickey, and Tinkerbell, all of which are new except Donald. He looks to be exactly the same as the one released with the CMF series.
The castle is chock full of Disney details and is sure to please any Disney fan, young or old, assuming they have the funds to get it. The set will go on sale on September 1, 2016 for the whopping price of $349.99 USD. Look for VIP Eary Bird Access in mid-August.
