Well, I’ve heard rumor about it for a while, but now I get to write that, yes, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum officially exists.

Yay?

I can’t say much about this game, other than it’s a stealth game and takes place a good while before the events of The Lord of the Rings. So why is it title The Lord of the Rings: Gollum? No clue.

I’m not wild about the weird art style, especially because it looks so realistic except Gollum, who looks like a chibi version of himself.

Side note: Mount Doom was dormant between Sauron’s disappearance and the rediscovery of the One ring. And even as Frodo and Sam got nearer to Mordo, the mountain certinaly wasn’t spewing fireballs.

Also, why are his eyes yellow? The books describe them as green-ish, and the movie went from blue-green to blue. Give me some consistency here, guys.

And in case it wasn’t apparent from the lack of “my precious”s in the trailer…Andy Serkis is not voice acting Gollum.

I’ll try and stop being cyncial. Maybe the game will be good.
