See that gorgeous package up there? That is what the UK/European markets get as a Limited Edition version of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. See that Game Boy looking thing? That is a SteelBook case that’s included with the package. I’m going to get a bad case of the FOMOs if i can’t secure one for myself. I don’t care if the game cartridge itself is incompatible. I’ll buy it twice if I have to. I seent it. I wants it. You people on the other side of the pond are soooo lucky.

What do we get? This “Dreamer Edition”:

It has the game and an art book. And that’s it. I assume it’s the same art book with a different cover but who knows. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it was a completely different book too.

And it’s stuff like that makes me think, what the hell is Nintendo thinking? I don’t get the region-exclusive editions. Bayonetta and Metroid: Samus Returns are just two games from recent memory that follow this exact same pattern. Some Pokemon games too. The rewards from their now-defunct Club Nintendo is another example. The replacement program, My Nintendo, seems to be unified now, offering the same kinds of rewards. But I guess region-exclusive disparities in collector’s editions are still a thing.

ANYWAYS, in addition to the regular game and Dreamer Edition being announced, there is also going to be an amiibo figure. And here it is:

How. Freaking. Adorable.

You can pre-order the Dreamer Edition [Best Buy | GameStop ] for $69.99 and the amiibo [Best Buy | Amazon] for $14.99 right now. There’s also the regular game [Best Buy | GameStop | Amazon] for $59.99 if you’re not into the fluff. Release date for The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is September 20th, 2019.

If anyone out there reading can hook me up with the UK/European version of the Collector’s Edition, shoot me a message. I know I shouldn’t want it. But I do. I really do.
