Given that Disney had pre-orders up for The Force Awakens a week or two before the movie actually hit theaters, it should come to no surprise that it’s coming to home video. What they had been quiet about is the date, which has now been announced as April 5th, 2016. Given that it was just a couple of weeks ago that it dropped out of the Top 10, it’s not surprising.
I look forward to the Super Special Edition in December. Best thing is that Disney is at least including a digital version with the disc (at least based on their art), which will likely be through Disney Movies Anywhere. If you haven’t used the service, it’s actually pretty nice, and syncs up with Ultraviolet and iTunes.
