Early, early this morning, LEGO [email protected] sent an email out to all VIP Black Card holders touting their promotion we exposed a few days ago. This is a free item that can be redeemed with the purchase of any LEGO Star Wars item. Each card holder was sent a personalized code that can be redeemed, I assume, only once. The fine print says the promotion is valid from December 7th, 2018 through January 31st, 2019 “or while supplies last”.
Can you imagine ordering one and them having run out? How could they not make enough for all members to get one?
The good news is that there is no minimum other than buying something LEGO Star Wars. I suppose a keychain could do it. But you’d want to at least meet the minimum for free shipping which is $35. The other good news is that it’s Double VIP points time from now until the 10th. The last good news is that you don’t have to be a VIP Black Card holder to take advantage of Double VIP points.
Visit LEGO [email protected] to start shopping today! You can still get stuff on time for the holidays with free shipping.
There’s got to be a bigger story behind this. LEGO has had some missteps in the past, but I can’t believe for a second that they planned out a special VIP card, and touted a year long’s worth of promos to only deliver a blueprint and a promo set that comes with the wrong-colored hands. “Giant tease” doesn’t even begin to describe it.
Many thanks to Wayne D. for the reminder.
