WB Games posted the above trailer a few hours ago showing off some more in-depth scenes from the upcoming LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Game. The trailer introduces a new approach to the standard build-something-to-progress kind of gameplay where now you have your choice of building several different models to solve a problem in different ways. The developer also promised that the game will fill in several back story elements that were lacking in the film it’s based on, such as how C-3PO got his red arm and how Han and Chewie captured the rathtars.

You can pre-order the standard edition of the game right now from Amazon. Pony up another $10 and you can get the Deluxe Edition that will net you an exclusive LEGO minifigure of Finn in his stormtrooper outfit and early access to The Empire Strikes Back character pack. The Deluxe Edition is only available for Xbox One and Playstation 4. Amazon Prime members get an additional 20% off of pre-orders for new games and up to 2 weeks after release day.

Update: Gamestop is offering a pre-order bonus of the Jabba’s Palace Character Pack with your purchase of the game for any system, including the Deluxe Edition. I’m not sure how the exclusivity plays out since getting the Deluxe Edition gets you the season pass good for all DLC content. It could be a timed exclusive though. Maybe someone more knowledgable on this topic will tell me. I’m sticking with Amazon though; the timed exclusive is meaningless plus with Prime I’ll get 20% off the list price and free release day delivery, all things Gamestop doesn’t offer.
