Shirt Ripping Clark Kent

With the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey on Blu-ray/DVD tomorrow, and Target having their exclusive version that comes with an exclusive Bilbo Baggins minifigure, and with the announcement of the exclusive Special Forces Commander Clone Trooper minifigure included with The Yoda Chronicles book, I figured now would be as good of a time as any to make a checklist for all the exclusive minifigs that came with a book, video game, or Blu-ray/DVD release.

Many items on the list are still available, though mostly the book exclusives as they are still in print. There are a few non-book items that are available for pre-order still. This list also includes non-licensed minifigs at the bottom. I should clarify that minifigures that came with the Brickmaster series of books are not included since they are available in another set.

Looking over the list, I’m a bit amazed that no LEGO Star Wars game has ever come with an exclusive minifig. The LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean started the trend with games and that came out well after LEGO Star Wars 3. The Lord of the Rings and Batman 2 games followed suit each with their own exclusive minifigs. As we look forward to the upcoming LEGO Marvel Super Heroes game, I can only hope that it will come with its own exclusive. The Marvel universe is vast and with over 100 playable characters in the game, the possibilities are endless.

Too bad the Toy Soldier comes with an expensive accessory (the book). It would make a great army builder. I’m just glad it wasn’t another Space Marine.
