10236 Ewok Village Revealed

10236 Ewok Village

Revealed today at the Lipno Event in Czech Republic, LEGO is pulling the curtain back on their newest [email protected] exclusive, 10236 Ewok Village.

In a nutshell, the set consists of 1,990 pieces and will set you back $249.99 US / $299.99 CA. Once you get over the sticker shock, you can check out the , the designer video, gallery of images and the official press release below. On sale date is set for September 2013.

My initial impression? I think LEGO's hit it out of the park. For too long have we suffered mediocre set designs constrained by a price point. 10236 Ewok Village looks like they threw any consideration of budget out the window. With 16 minifigures, most of which are exclusive, this set is on par with 10188 Death Star in terms of depth and quality. The trees are suitably chunky and are loaded with play features. You can relive lots of scenes out of the movie since LEGO included a fair number of Imperial troopers. I think the only thing that's missing is 8038 Battle of Endor from store shelves to nicely complement this set. Oh, and more Ewoks. Should have come with more Ewoks.

You can get your hands on this set in September. September can't come fast enough for me.

I stayed up until 2 am to see this and it didn't disappoint. Amazing. This is the set I have been wanting ever since I started collecting Lego. Between this and Orthanc Lego is really hitting these out of the park. The bar keeps getting raised. We have been getting outstanding sets lately. Bravo Lego XD

SWEET!!! I like it, TLG came through on this one. Looks like a very nice playset and a nice variety of mini-figures. It will go well with my Endor display. Plan on picking up at least two of them. Hard part will be waiting for the release date.

Wow, a REAL playset from Lego, not just a half building or some tiny little thing. Real playability on top of looking alot like the scene it is based on. Lots of nice tree and foliage parts for other projects. The ewoks are new except Chief Chirpa and Logray. The Scout trooper looks like the same as the one in this year's advent calendar. One of the rebel soldiers is in the current battlepack and the other only differs by having a Rohan Soldier head. So out of the 17 total figures, if you count the rebel with the Rohan soldier head, there are 6 exclusive/unique figures to this set. Not bad. The scout trooper looks awesome! I only wish a special translucent Obi-wan/Yoda/Anakin was available.

I'm impressed and I haven't been impressed with a SW set in a LONG TIME! This is just amazing and unique. I have to agree with the designer that it's all space ships and this is a structure and being a tree structure it's even more amazing!
eBay store, contact me if you'd like to perform trades from my inventory. I'm looking for original genosian fighers, second version a-wing fighters and tie bombers. I may be interested in other sets so let me know what you have.

"To heck with the price, go big!" A bold move that will pay off in spades, methinks. Scout trooper looks great. Nicely done, LEGO.

TLG was due, last few big sets were good but this is great! I think previously released Endor sets just became more popular.

I'm neither an Ewok fan (who is, really?) nor a minifig collector, so this set shouldn't appeal to me, but it does, hugely. Simply amazing, mind bottlingly nice. I'm imaginig wrecked or captured imperial vehicles at the base of the trees, and mini a-wings setting off fireworks above the trees...

I see can myself getting this set but I can't think of why I would need it. I would happily collect it but it all really depends on what it would bring as I am a more Episode 2/Episode 3 fan. But it looks nice and I can imagine this set becoming quite popular.

Way too many recycled minifigures. Three quarters of them could have been cut to bring the price down to something halfway reasonable. Also, the trees aren't tall enough to give a proper sense of scale. Otherwise, it's well designed. Besides the fact it's ewoks, those annoying things that almost ruined the original trilogy.... now you get to pay $300 to relive the movie destroying magic.

Nice..Sure it is. Something people have dreamed of...sure it is. Nice minifig count despite being more of the same just in new garb...sure it is. But are we all really that starved for decent UCS sets that we are calling this 'mindblowing'??? I hope not. I just try to compare this for $250 against the UCS Shuttle for $260 when it was just out and it's hard to call them equal. Just my 2 cents but I understand they needed to hit a mid-$200 range since they just put out the X-wing at $200 and already have the R2 and B-Wing in the sub $200 range. But really, let's call it for what it is, a very desirable yet bloated fish that many will hope they catch.

Just the fact that they are producing some great play sets is exceptional. We got a decent, modular Jabba's palace with Rancor pit and now this. I like the way TLG has gone with the OT sets recently with play sets with some new minifigs. I was disappointed with the lack of ghost figures. Maybe we'll get a cantina next?
