It's a shame, as this place was invaluable to me as I got back into LEGO and Star Wars about two years ago. Well, what's done is done. Bye folks. :(

I really dont know what to say to this, so I'll say it both ways:

1) FBTB is really gone:
I am really sad to see FBTB go. I should have joined earlier. My short time on FBTB was a wonderful 5 months. I got facepalmed 1,...2,...4 times in the same topic. So long to all of you. Goodbye FBTB, I will miss you. :'(

2)This is a cruel April Fool's Day Joke:
You actually had me fooled. This was a really cruel joke.
And I believed it.

I feel a great disturbance in the Force with this news, as if the voices of dozens of nerds suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

Now that I've had overnight to adjust, I thought I'd actually put how I really feel. I don't really deal well with surprises like this, and my defenses just shoot right up. I logged on last night to check in with my LEGO peeps and was greeted with the end of an era. However, I thought that if I didn't bid a proper adieu to everyone, I'd probably regret it later.

I can't say that I'm terribly surprised by this announcement. The writing's been on the wall for some time. The contests have been almost non-existant since the reboot. The updates come less frequently. And the Star Wars line has less relevance and importance in LEGO's overall vision for the brand. Well, it's better to go out in a blaze of glory than to fizzle.

I'd have offered to take the reigns myself, but I'm in largely the same position as the administrators, what with a stressful job, a house to maintain, and kids to care for. Sometimes, we barely have enough room in our lives for the A and nothing left over for the FOL. I trust Andrew will do well with the site. I just hope he lets it die rather than change it to something like From Zombies to Japanese Culture, which seem to be two of his major LEGO kicks over the last year. As evidenced by my initial reaction, I don't do well with change.

So, for all the good friends I've made here, let's hook up through the PM system (while it's still active) and figure out how to stay in touch. Maybe it'll be through Facebook or Twitter. Or hey, maybe we can even start our own site, albeit one that requires minimal upkeep. See you all on the other side.

It's been a fun ride, with plenty of fights, and even my own protest group. Have fun everyone.

I figured it was a gag due to the date. I knew this was a gag when I got to the part about Ace having another baby on the way. Sure, your wife let you anywhere near her 3 months after giving birth, and you two have energy for such activity? Shenanigans! :D

I think I'm going to ask you all to help give me suggestions for my senior prank in two years. :D

Good luck Ace. Hope your second is named Luke...or something. I've only been a member for a little more than two years, but as part of the required registration process, I have left a large portion of my soul on this site (you all had to do that when you registered, right?...RIGHT?!). I suppose this can be returned to me now that the site is gone? Please PM me with whatever you have of it.

Wow! What a coincidence! Today is also a day of change for me. I've decided I'm no longer going to collect Lego and I was going to donate my entire collection to other forum members. However, since the site is shutting down, forums are locked and members will soon be scattered across the interweb, I have no idea what to do with this worthless plastic now. Into the garbage I guess?
