Anyone know of a release date for this set? Last i heard it was just summer 2012. I'm really looking forward to this set. Love the color scheme.

Wow...August. That is a long ways away yet. I really like the large SW sets. More of a challenging build and there aren't many large SW sets out right now or coming out anytime soon are there? The malovence looks to be one of the larger sets but even that isn't too large.

Large Sets

Wow, you sure said large a lot ;)

...I don't know what your definition of "large" is, but 1,100+ pieces (in the Malevolence) is generally considered a pretty big set by most people's standards. The only sets that have too many more pieces than that are usually Ultimate Collector Series, and there are generally only two or three of those available in retail outlets at a time, though at the moment there are four, and when R2 comes out in May, that will make five. This seems kinda rare, but someone else would have to check on the history of concurrently available UCS Star Wars sets to verify its rarity.

With that said, here are the Star Wars sets currently available on the primary market with prices greater than $100.

Death Star - 10188
Pieces:3803 - $399.99

Super Star Destroyer - 10221
Pieces:3152 - $399.99

Imperial Shuttle - 10212
Pieces:2503 - $259.99

Millennium Falcon - 7965
Pieces:1254 - $139.99

Clone Turbo Tank - 8098
Pieces:1141 - $119.99

Republic Frigate - 7964
Pieces:1022 - $119.99

Among these, included are 3 of the 6 biggest SW sets ever released (retail) by LEGO and all of these are currently in the top 25 according to Bricklink. Which reminds me, if you're new to all of this, Bricklink is an excellent place to get old sets for reasonable prices on the aftermarket and Brickset is a fantastic resource for easily locating sets for sale on ebay.

I actually think it seems to small to represent the malevolence. Brick count aside, seeing it in the hands of the LEGO rep it does not look that substantial.
