Just a craniums-up for those that have been holding off on getting this set. I am seriously considering grabbing a second one for myself...but I don't think my wallet can tolerate any more spending on LEGO this month.

Hope this helps someone in need!

Oh, and don't forget to use the FBTB link to get to the Amazon page....

My wife picked it up for me sometime in the spring or maybe last fall from Target.com for 179 shipped. That's the only other time I've seen in on sale.

It really is an extremely underrated set.

I purchased mine for $199 from Target.com on 12/6/09. I'm also considering buying a second one (so I would actually open a copy :P).

I agree that it's underrated, but I think it's largely because Lego missed the proper price point of $200 MSRP for this instead of $250.

OMGZ PUT IT ON SALE IN CANADA ALREADY.

At normal price, is 250$ USD, really worth 350$ CAD? No. It's not.

I guess you missed the sale in canada when it was $87.50cdn at [email protected] Should be able to get it from a canadian or US (if you want to deal with potential taxes) ebayer for $250. One canadian and one decent US ebayer listing available now.

Forget the $199, they just dropped them to $179 this morning, my two cents but that's the lowest they've ever been as far as I remember and a SMOKING deal for the set. If I remember right the big [email protected] sale in May they were $186 or something like that so this is better AND they're doing free shipping. I canceled the two I bought last night and bought more this morning at the new price. WOOOOHOOOOOOOO

Out of curiosity... what do you do with all these sets? Do you build them or do you part them and sell them on BrickLink or do you just want the parts to build your own creations or ... ?????

I look at this set and think ... it's ugly and impractical. Same with the Clone Turbo Tank. There's part of me that has a collector mentality and wants it regardless at these prices but I don't understand the need for multiples. I'm a LEGO-newbie so I'm honestly just looking for information - I'm not trying to flame or anything.

Only the Slave I is left in stock. I tried to add the dropship/walker when they had one left, but it was gone before I could finalize the order.

I hope Amazon was just testing the waters and we get more discounts on this level before Christmas comes.

Thanks for the heads up, Darth Maul.

Without getting into a whole 'nother discussion, I think in general you'll find that it's not unusual for AFOL's (Adult Fans of Lego) to act like they're Noah. Purchasing two by two on sets they really like. And in many cases it's one to build, one to store (either for sale later or just for collection), unless they are only buying the sets for parts. But that's just a really general statement and everyone is obviously a little different and that's a topic for another discussion.

you can always go to the front page and hit the link that's on the right hand column. You may have to scroll a bit, but you should see all of the site's affiliate partners: Amazon, LEGO [email protected], Target, Walmart, and Toys'R'Us.

I've noticed that if walmart drops the price on something, Amazon is quick to follow. I suspect that Amazon sold through their stock, that's why you see third party resellers offering the AT-OT
