Is Lego dropping the "exclusive" markings on exclusive sets?

Postby JamesBenjamin » Sat Feb 04, 2012 8:06 am

It appears so, as there are several sets that are (so far) only available at TRU, yet don't have the normal sidebar that says "exclusive" or "limited edition."

Dino: 5888

City Forest Police: 4438

Super Heroes: 6857

I'm not sure I like this, as it makes it a total pain-in-the-behind to find things sometimes, especially with none of the major Lego fan sites (brickset/link, brickipedia, etc) mark them as exclusives to one store or another. I spent a good 3 weeks looking for the Funhouse set (I rarely go into TRU because of the TRU tax) until I FINALLY stumbled across it.

Even with those markings, you didn't know which store / chain had the exclusive, to they were pretty irrelevant. Plus, you could always buy from [email protected] ?
