----------------------------------------------

Captain Thunder's first submission for the competition is believed to be a heavily modifed Orion-Class Pneumatic Fighter, as evidenced by the exhaust tubes that make up the main frame.

The Orion-Class fighters, long-outdated and considered now a "failed experiment", were known for their immense engine stability (running on compressed air circulating continually through their large exhaust tubes), but weaknesses in almost all other areas. It lacked any kind of offense system, and its bizarre mainframe made it difficult to incorporate any tracking system or defense mechanisms, leaving it basically useless as an actual fighter.

In modifying the ship, Thunder appears to have ditched the main frame in favor of a more traditional set-up, as well as modifying the central circuitry boards and affixing laser cannons on the sides of the ship. The...inventive paint job appears to be his contribution as well. Thunder informs us he has nicknamed his creation "Packrat".

Korval Drcht - Letter O Entry

The job was nonspecific to an absurd degree. All the message said was "infiltrate Rebel Fleet." No details as to timeline, how deep he needed to go, or suggestions for how this should be accomplished. Drcht already had an idea, but the gray uniforms wouldn't like it. Some Imperial peons would lose their jobs, no doubt. Drcht didn't care. He packed up, went to the spaceport and booked a flight to some destination he never intended to reach.

73 hours, later, a full 14 minutes of which were spent in open space, Drcht finally dropped into a cargo bay on the Imperial Star Destroyer "Resolve" and found a jack to plug into the system. Information flew through his circuits, hangars, specifically. He needed something small so he could pilot himself, but with the range to get, well, far enough. A TIE bomber would do, or perhaps an interceptor. However, it appeared that this Destroyer was outfitted for space combat only, no ground troop compliment. Were there perhaps cruisers on board? Would that he were so lucky, it was probably just an increased fleet of fighters. But then he saw a hangar that made the flesh side of his mouth twitch. Sandwiched between two bomber bays was one labeled "fighter," lowercase "f." The strange placement wasn't enough to warrant a look on its own, but the obvious attempt to be inconspicuous was.

Once he was in the bay, it took a moment to process the strange craft hanging from their rails. Circular frame, what looked like a huge weapon slung on the underside, powerful thrusters, and was that an exposed coolant line running around the inside ring? Definitely experimental. He grinned. Forget peons and their jobs, at least one officer would lose his life over this, and the Alliance would certainly welcome him with open arms if he handed them an Imperial fighter prototype. But dare he risk it? Stealing one would be incredibly difficult, and he had no idea of this craft's capabilities. He didn't even know if it would work. More than likely he'd run out of fuel and find himself drifting in the void, relying on the benefice of strangers for help. He could be out there for weeks. Maybe forever.

He was Korval Drcht. Of course he dared.
