Oh also I'd love to see more people feeling a little dangerous and going with the more difficult letters like Forn, Dorn, Usk, and Yirt. That is if anyone's up for the challenge ;) .

The Aurek-Wing starfighter was an experimental starfighter which resembled the shape of the first letter in the Aurebesh alphabet "Aurek". It was an extremely fast and agile fighter with similar features to the U-Wing fighter. Its most notable feature was its prong-like retractable wings or S-foils that could split apart at the front to switch from flight to attack mode, thereby increasing the size of the ship's deflector shields and the spread of its fire, which earned it the nickname of Scissor Fighter. It also featured retractable landing gear, a central fin, laser cannons on each wing and in front of the cockpit, large engines on each side, as well as a small thruster behind the cockpit.

Here is a bird's eye view where you can see the Aurek shape better.

Besh-Wing
With its strong defensive shields and powerful twin cannons, this star-fighter is ready to lay down cover fire for any convoy in trouble.

Imperial Escort Besh-Wing

Postby sparkart » Sun Nov 26, 2017 6:55 pm

The Sienar Systems "Saber-and-Shield", colloquially known as the Besh-Wing, is a hyperdrive-equipped escort fighter designed to accompany Lambda-class shuttles with Imperial envoys on longer distance missions that require hyperspace travel.

Large, sensitive sensor arrays detect faraway or cloaked threats and blaster turrets project firepower fore and aft. Two crewmen in a stacked and staggered configuration, pilot the ship and operate the sensors and weapon systems.

Thanks for checking it out, and thanks FBTB for another entertaining and inspiring contest!

Hi everyone!
And...
WOW!
Every ship so far has really great design.
Especially the last two. Maybe because of the white color, they look so good to me, so ascetic.

Personally, I'm still looking for some free time to participate... (As we've seen lately, being adult is hard)

I'm glad I can see how everyone develops here and gets better and better :)

Wesk-wing QIE Fighter-Bomber
The QIE (Quad Ion Engine) Fighter-Bomber is a First Order era fighter-bomber which replaced the venerable TIE bomber. Highly efficient Quad Ion Engines give this one-man, hyperspace capable fighter more power to move it's increased weight: supporting guidance systems, twin concussion and twin proton torpedo launchers and double heavy lasers and heavy blasters. All the extra power means the QIE loses the solar collectors traditionally associated with TIE Bomber in favor of Cooling vanes fore and aft to dissipate heat, while the side engine/missile launcher pods stack in the attack position providing excellent balance, improved maneuverability and good visibility for the pilot. The rectangular silhouette in cruise/landing mode gives the QIE Fighter-Bomber it's nickname - the "Wesk-wing".

Lots more angles and pics on my flickr page (and yes I deliberately chose the most boring character in the Aurebesh to try to make an interesting fighter!)

My entry is the letter "Shen."

The Shen-Wing is used heavily by the mining guild to move large chunks of space matter around. It uses mini-tractor beams extended from the front mandibles to condense the matter to make it easier to move.

by , on Flickr

It's unique shape allows it to maneuver easily around debris fields.

Turns out my initial plans for a Nern Wing were far too ambitious, so this will have to do:

by , on Flickr

Think of it as a space tug, using small tractor beams to push cargo pods around the dock. The large clear cockpit window gives the pilot a good view of what is going on.

I'm quite proud of the . Never seen that before, but maybe I haven't been looking in the right places.

An aurebesh starfighter contest you say? "I'm On-ith..." XD

MAIN ENTRY PHOTO Onith-Wing Starfighter

In addition to the Onith shaped wings, the starfighter evolved into a mash-up between an A-wing and Y-wing too. Was a lot of fun to build. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the entries as they come in before the deadline.

Here is my entry into the contest, the Enth-Wing Starfighter. It was an interesting build with some unique challenges to overcome, but it is swooshable as long as you don't get too aggressive with your swoosh. :) You can find more angles of it on my flickr page. Good luck to all the other competitors and thanks FBTB for hosting the event.

My submission.
D.R.O.I.D. recycling chain. Droids evolved: far away from Geonosis foundry the entire combat stuff is recycled. Damaged droids are accurately refurbished, if they missed legs than a robot chain will provide new legs, and so on. The chain structure simulate the word DROID in Aurebesh alphabet.

And now...the RF-8024 also known as the Forn Fighter is my submission for this sweet contest!

by , on Flickr

Built primarily as a high-speed reconnaissance ship, the Forn Fighter was one of the fastest ships in the fleet thanks to its giant main engine. While super fast, the fighter requires a rather unique stabilizer configuration, giving it the unique shape resembling the Aurebesh letter "Forn". It's rotating cockpit also helps to allow the ship to maneuver in unique ways, and make its flight path unpredictable for would-be attackers.

Thanks for checking out my latest project! And thanks to FBTB for always coming up with awesome build contests to kick my creativity organ in gear! Check out my flikr page to see the dry dock used for major repairs, as well as other views of the Forn Fighter.

Here's my entry: Shen-Class Transport Fighter AKA 'Beluga'. The ship is modelled after the 'Shen' glyph which just so happens to be the perfect shape for a small transport fighter (or I thought so anyway! :D)

The backstory bit: 'Modified using scrap Y-wing parts and affectionately referred to as 'The Beluga Brigade' by other squadrons, a small fleet of Shen-class Transport Fighter's serve the rebel alliance as cargo delivery and extraction ships. Flying in tandem, two 'Belugas' combined firepower and upgraded sensors can bypass imperial blockades whilst carrying a large payload more typical of corellian freighters. This makes them an invaluable asset to the rebels selfless cause of providing aid to those suffering on occupied worlds.'

The minute I found out about this contest I knew it would be a fun departure from my usual builds..and it was! Really enjoying seeing everyone else's entries and I can't wait to find out what the next contest's theme will be!
