Xenomurphy’s Battle Above The Bugle

Spider-Man vs. Vulture - Main

I sat on this one for a couple of days to let Ace’s Toy Fair coverage soak up some much deserved attention, but I can’t stands no more! Xenomurphy is at it again with this gigantic Spider-man themed vig of a battle on the rooftop of the Daily Bugle. The attention to detail and scale is exactly what I’ve come to expect from this builder and as much as I love the custom figs he’s created, the real crown jewel here is his excellent font work.

Spider-Man vs. Vulture - Scarlet Spider FightScarlet Spider 01

He may not have made the custom Scarlet Spider fig himself, but his addition of the painted Wyldstyle hoodie is what sets it apart. The fact that Ben Reilly’s outcast outfit is a favourite of mine goes a long way to me ignoring the custom aspect. Xenomurphy has quickly become one of the builders I anxiously await the next build from.

Xenomurphy’s Arkham Asylum

Arkham Asylum 1

No stranger to large scale super hero themed builds, Xenomurphy takes a crack at crazy with his rendition of Gotham’s revolving door psychiatric hospital for the criminally insane. I’d suggest clicking the picture and viewing it larger on Flickr to take in the details. Xm even provides a link to download what is essentially a book detailing the projects inspirations and development for this easily escapable nut house and it includes more pictures of the build. Is that insensitive, calling it that? Too bad, they’re straight up crazy.

Oh, and Happy Halloween FubTubbers!

Amazing Spider Mosaic

When looking at Thorsten Bonsch’s (Xenomurphy) MOC of what I am sure is a McFarlane-era Spider-man, it’s amazing how he was able to capture the essence of ol’ webhead using LEGO elements to form the mosaic. Look a little closer and it’s even more mindblowing to realize that the pieces are just scattered on a black dropcloth and then photographed. It definitely showcases how LEGO can transcend from toy to art.

Enter The Green Goblin

Xenomurphy keeps up with the swing of things in his latest super hero themed MOC as it appears that Sandman and the Lizard were just a warm up for the main event, Spider-man vs. Green Goblin. This scene is filled with some incredible details like the working fire escape, graffiti and that fantastic explosion. I encourage you to take a closer look on either Flickr or MOC pages and learn more about this latest creation in a series of amazing builds. I had to include the picture below, because I love seeing Spidey read his own comic book.
