[US] Toys R Star Wars Sale, free Ninjago Polybag

Echo Base

For the 4th of July weekend, Toys R Us is offering a sale on “All Star Wars and Hero Factory.” Now, most of the deals are essentially null considering the “TRU tax” mark-up. However, there are a couple of actual discounts.

>>7879 Hoth Echo Base- was $89.99, now $66.49 (about 25% off)
>>10188 Death Star- was $399.99, now $359.99 (about 10% off)
>>10212 Imperial Shuttle-was $259.99, now $233.99 (about 10% off)

They’re also giving away a free 30086 Ninjago Hidden Sword ($4.99 value) “with ANY LEGO construction set purchase of $20 or more!” It looks like you might have to add it manually when shopping online. Watch out for that.

Sales are valid through July 2nd. Yeah, that’s right. TRU’s 4th of July sale ends on July 2nd.

Review: 30160 Batman Jetski

Oh Toys R Us and their exclusives…

30160 overall

30160 Batman Jetski is the first of what will hopefully be many Super Heroes polybags. The best parts of the DC and Marvel lines are the minifigures, so a cheap way to get them is always welcomed. It’s not as cheap as it could be, thanks to Toys R Us, but it’s a start.

Toys ‘R’ Us Discounts LEGO Batman 2 + Free Shipping

Toys ‘R’ Us is currently offering the upcoming LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes at a surprisingly decent discount of 25% off. On top of that, they’re offering free shipping on pre-orders. There’s no telling how long this will last and there’s no bonus minifigure or downloadable characters, but if you prefer to save money, this deal might be the better choice (it’s tough, I know). Oh, and PC users, you’ll have to look elsewhere for a deal. Toys ‘R’ Us doesn’t list that version. Then again, neither does Gamestop. The game is available on Xbox 360, PS3, PS Vita, Wii, DS, 3DS, and releases June 19th.

[Toys R Us] Star Wars On “Sale,” Collectible Minifigures 2 for $5

Y-wing CMF 6

The Toys R Us weekly flyer has a couple of deals this week. First off, “select top selling” Star Wars items are 30% off, including LEGO. As always, watch out for price adjustment trickery.

The only sets that are actually “30% off” are the ones pictured in the flyer. Turns out they aren’t such great deals compared to normal MSRP:
>>9491 Geonosian Cannon (23% Off MSRP)
>>9495 Gold Leader’s Y-Wing Starfighter (16% Off MSRP)

The exclusive 30057 Anakin’s Pod Racer and larger sets like 10211 Super Star Destroyer are 10% off with free shipping.

Spend $35 or more on Star Wars and you get a free 2gb Darth Maul flash drive.

What’s more enticing is Collectible Minifigures Series 6 are 2 for $5 (down from $3.49 TRU, $2.99 elsewhere). Must buy two at a time for the offer. It’s limited to one transaction per online order, but in-store there is no limit. With no limit they’re sure to sell out fast. You can get a complete set of 16 and save around $8 off MSRP.

[Toys R Us] 30057 Anakin’s Pod Free with $20 purchase

Mini Podracer

Toys R Us is having a Star Wars sale this week, including an offer to get their exclusive 30057 Anakin’s Pod polybag free with any LEGO Star Wars purchase of $20 or more (a $4.99 value). This can help offset the TRU mark-up on some sets, including the 2012 ones which are now in stock. Probably the best way to snag this exclusive polybag for now. It’s also sort of like a 25% off deal if you spend the minimum.

[Toys R Us] Bricktober Minifig Magnets Appear Online

castle minifig forest minifig
space minifig ninja minifig

It’s just about October, and that means Bricktober over at Toys R Us. Once again they have a series of four exclusive minifigure magnets, this go around representing Classic Castle, Forest, Space, and Ninja themes. Promotion runs the month of October, but you can look at them online. You can’t get them yet, but they are in stock.

They are each free with $75 purchase, or you can buy them individually for $4.99. If you order online, a $75 order gets free shipping. I get the sinking feeling that these will be glued this time, sucking most of the appeal out of them. But hey! We may get lucky. They’re confirmed as glued.

[Can] Pirates Of The Caribbean Now 20% Off @ TRU + More!

Toys R Us Canada is now offering 20% off on all Pirates Of The Caribbean sets for two weeks, starting today and running until Sept. 22nd. All Cars LEGO is still 20% off until the 28th, so get your Pirates sets first. The 20% offer also includes all Atlantis, Pharoah’s Quest, Kingdoms, Racers & Technic sets which means that there’s a good chance Star Wars will be up the last week this month.

Also, for the gamers in the crowd, TRU has knocked an additional $5 off of their LEGO video game selection (excluding POTC for some reason) bringing games like LEGO Star Wars III down to just $14.97. That’s quite a savings considering it’s still $20 on Amazon in the US and still $25-$50 most places in Canada.

Additionally, you can hit the store on Saturday between Noon & 2PM for a FREE back to school LEGO build. They’ll only have between 50-100 per site so the early bird gets the worm, just be sure to bring a kid or a convincing excuse that your nonexistent kid is stuck in dance class.
Free brick is free brick.

[Can] All Cars LEGO 20% Off @ TRU

8484 Ultimate Build Lightning Mcqueen - 1

File this one under every little bit helps. TRU Canada is offering a 20% discount on all Cars LEGO through Sept. 28th. Although you won’t be able to get my favourite, the Walmart exclusive Ultimate Build Mater there`s still a wide selection to choose from and if you purchase $100+ online they’re offering free shipping.

With Ace pumping out the Cars reviews I thought this may be useful to those in the Great White North looking for a little break. I for one will make use of this to pick up a couple of sets for my son`s upcoming birthday. And face it, Christmas is just around the corner.
