At the end of Celebration Europe’s, Lucasfilm officially announced the details of its next Celebration: Star Wars Celebration VII will be held in Anaheim, California,  April 16-19, 2015. This will be a big one, timed with the release of Star Wars: Episode VII, the 10th anniversary of Episode III, and the 35th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back.

Obviously, information is light right now, but expect to hear more about the celebration and activities as it gets closer.

LEGO Star Wars January 2013 Set List Revealed

LEGO Star Wars

Down at Celebration VI, there was a LEGO Star Wars panel where the panelists revealed the set list for LEGO Star Wars’ January assortment. And they are:

Planet Series 3:
Kamino w/ R4-P17 droid and Jedi Starfighter
Coruscant w/ Clone Pilot and Republic Assault Striker
Asteroid Filed w/ Tie Bomber and Tie Pilot

Regular Sets:
The Old Republic Battle Pack (2x Sith Troopers + 2x clones)
Clone Troopers vs Droidekas Battle Pack (sniper droideka)
A-wing w/Ackbar, Han and A-wing pilot
AT-RT w/ yoda, clone trooper and assassin droid
Z-95 Headhunter w/ 2x Clone Troopers, General Krell
The Rancor Pit (as revealed at SDCC)

So R4-P17 is just the astromech head, right? RIGHT? Okay probably not, but that was my first instinct.

In other news, a new Visual Dictionary will be released in 2014, and there is another LEGO Star Wars video game in the works.

LEGO Star Wars Celebration V Press Release

Got the following press release detailing some events LEGO is hosting at Star Wars Celebration:

LEGO® STAR WARS™ Celebrates 30th Anniversary of
The Empire Strikes Back at Star Wars Celebration V

–Interactive LEGO mural building event supports ‘The Empire Gives Back’ and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital–

ORLANDO (August 13th, 2010) – To commemorate the 30th anniversary of Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, LEGO Systems, Inc. and Lucasfilm Ltd. are summoning the force of LEGO® and STAR WARS fans and families to participate in a three-day collaborative build of an eight-foot tall, 15-foot wide LEGO mystery mural to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The mural will be constructed by attendees of Star Wars Celebration V and a LEGO Master Builder at Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center from August 13-15.

Fans who help the LEGO Master Builder to construct the mural will receive one of 10,000 limited edition white Boba Fett LEGO minifigures. Additionally, for every LEGO plate a fan builds and adds to the mural, LEGO Systems and Lucasfilm’s “The Empire Gives Back” program will donate 330 LEGO System and LEGO DUPLO® bricks to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to encourage imagination and creative play and support the patients of St. Jude. In total, more than 1.5 million LEGO bricks will be donated..

“The STAR WARS franchise has creatively inspired so many people since its debut, and has motivated LEGO enthusiasts to build models, create their own stories and, in some cases, produce their own films,” said Michael McNally, brand relations director, LEGO Systems, Inc. “We’re particularly proud to partner with Lucasfilm’s ‘The Empire Gives Back’ charitable giving program to both commemorate an important milestone for The Empire Strikes Back, but also to help carry forward its creative spirit with yet another generation of children through St. Jude.”

STAR WARS enthusiasts will also be able to see new LEGO products on display, have their picture taken with life-sized LEGO STAR WARS models and check out fan created LEGO models. A second LEGO Master Builder will be doing a live build of a 6-foot tall Boba Fett model.

The LEGO Store will have products available for purchase and will feature an exclusive Celebration V STAR WARS CubeDude set, designed by fan and Pixar animator, Angus MacLane, who will be on-site to sign boxes. To purchase the set, a raffle ticket must be drawn. Tickets will be pulled at the LEGO booth each day at 11 a.m.

Best. Day. Ever! Celebration IV

After giving up trying to calculate the precise algorithm to score the correct riptide and get admitted to the line at Gentle Giant, I wandered back to our fan booth to man it for a little bit. And guess who paid me a visit:

That’s Michonne Bourriague aka Aurra Sing and Amy Allen aka Aayla Secura. Yesterday, I was wandering the autograph section getting Jared some sigs, talked to them a little bit and invited them to come and check out the minifigs Jared made of their characters that were on display at our booth. So they came by today! They were so nice and friendly, it’s disarming. They thought the figs were fantastic. Of course, while they were there, I just had to indulge, just a little bit. If there’s any chance Amy and Michonne are reading this, I would just like to say thank you again for stopping by. =)
