Neoape Posts Comic Con Batmobile Instructions

Batmobile Exclusive

By way of Brickstar on YouTube, neoape has painstakingly taken screen shots from his video of every step of the instruction manual from the San Diego Comic Con Batmobile set. You can get the Batman and Robin minifigures from LEGO Juniors 10672 Batman: Defend the Bat Cave and, according to the article, a good number of parts from LEGO City 60007 High Speed Chase . Obviously you’ll have to source the rest of the parts from your own collection or other places like Bricklink or LEGO’s part ordering system. The only thing you don’t get is the packaging. The post over at neoape has pictures of the parts list.

Thanks to ninnymuggins murphquake for the tip.

[SDCC] LEGO’s Exclusive Minifigure Giveaway Recap

Success

Another year and another San Diego Comic Con under our collective belts. I am more or less fully recovered from my trip and decompressed enough to gather my thoughts on how LEGO handled their minifigure giveaway this year. I’ll only be talking about the minifigure giveaway and not the exclusive sets that were for sale. That will be in another post which you probably won’t want to miss.

So this year, LEGO did something they’ve never done before and actually put out information early on how the queueing process would be handled. There would be a line upstairs away from the exhibit hall floor. Attendee badges would be scanned and fans would walk up to an iPad where there was a custom built app and a single “Play” button. Press the button and you had a 50/50 chance on winning that day’s exclusive minifigure. If you lost, you would walk down what I affectionately call Loser’s Lane and if you won, you would walk over and pick up your figure right then and there. And how did it go? Fantastically! It went so smoothly and efficiently that I almost forgot how bad it was the previous years. I really have to tip my hat to the events team that planned it this year as they addressed every major problem from years past and created a non-riotous, almost enjoyable experience.

[SDCC] More Images of 75084 Wookiee Gunship

75084 Wookiee Gunship 1

LEGO Star Wars sets for January 2015 is shaping up to be a Rebels push as SDCC debuted the model for 75084 Wookiee Gunship. For seventy ($69.99) of your hard earned dollars, you’ll get a 570 piece model with four minifigs, three of which are Wookies. There is a sled / gunner’s station that fits into the cargo hold of the gunship and two cockpits up front. This set seems like such a derivative of the Republic Gunship that it’s hard for me get excited about it. And the price is a bit hard to swallow considering what you’re getting for it.

[SDCC] Images of The LEGO Exclusive Unikitty

LEGO SDCC Exclusive Unikitty 1

The picture above is actually the back of front of the package. The Unikitty set still uses the same clamshell packaging with the bubble, but because of the way the card was designed, they flipped it around and put the bubble in the back.

The print on the inside of the cardboard is different as well. It’s not an image of Unikitty like the three minifigures before her, but it is the instructions on how to put her together. It would have been nice to have a print of some part of Cloud Cuckoo Land instead though and maybe put the assembly instructions on the back next to the legal text.

Unikitty does indeed come with two faces. Clearly this guy had no idea what he was talking about. The Cutesy Kitty face is probably my most favorite between all versions of her.

Speaking of Unikitty, did anyone make it to the LEGO Movie panel? I decided to abandon ship early to beat traffic and see my babies sooner rather than later.

[SDCC] LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham Gameplay Demo

Yesterday at the LEGO booth, Warner Bros. Interactive was demoing a part of the upcoming LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham video game. It looks to be pretty similar to the LEGO games before. The demo showed us the inside of the Batcave from the classic television series. Batman, Robin, and Alfred work together to construct the Batmobile. After that, the demo continues and showcases some of the unlockable, playable characters that are in the game. Like the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes game before it, Beyond Gotham touts a roster of 150 characters for you to unlock. Adam West is the character in peril this time around like Stan Lee was for the Marvel game.

If you pre-order the game from Gamestop, you will get a LEGO Plastic Man as a bonus. The game comes out later this year for all current gaming systems including PS3 and Xbox 360, but not for Wii.

[SDCC] More Images of 76025 Green Lantern vs. Sinestro

76025 Green Lantern vs. Sinestro 5

This might be a waste of bandwidth posting these images. After all, 76025 Green Lantern vs. Sinestro is a small $19.99 set consisting of three minifigs, a small ship, and some kind of chamber looking thing. It’s not very complicated and the pictures we’ve seen so far in the announcement post are pretty much all you’d need to see. Still, if you want to see them, you know what to do.

[SDCC] More Images of 76023 The Tumbler

76023 The Tumbler 1

When USAToday revealed the latest D2C exclusive set, 76023 The Tumbler, to be honest I was more impressed by the minifigs than the actual vehicle. Something just looked off about it, I don’t know… maybe too many studs… but after seeing the model in person today at the San Diego Comic Con, I have to say it is REALLY impressive. It manages to capture all of the nooks and crannies, angles, all kinds of fine details you probably never knew it had. I can’t wait to get my hands on it. I snapped off a few pics, but it was quite difficult to get some good shots with it being in a glass case and all. In any case, they are available after the jump.

LEGO SDCC Exclusive Zur-En-Arrh Batman 1

Today’s exclusive minifig giveaway was the all too colorful Zur-En-Arrh Batman. His head has double-sided printing with one side looking a little too maniacal. And considering he’s holding a baseball bat it just adds to the looney effect.

[SDCC] Stay Puft Marshmallow Man On Display

LEGO Stay Puft Marshmallow Man 1

Remember the LEGO Stay Puft Marshmallow Man sculpture we featured last week? When I got the pictures, it wasn’t clear at the time what was to be done with the sculpture, at least it wasn’t made known to my contacts. Not that it matters much though, because if you happen to be at the LEGO booth at Comic Con this weekend, go hit up the retail store section and check it out. They put it behind a glass case along with a small street section and 21108 Ghostbusters Ecto-1 set to make a pretty nice display. I LOVE this statue and would pay good money for it. More pics below.

[SDCC] Bard the Bowman, LEGO’s Not-So-Exclusive Minifigure

LEGO SDCC Exclusive Bard the Bowman Front

Here are some package shots of the LEGO SDCC Exclusive Bard the Bowman. Or is it?

I have verified today with two different sources that the Bard the Bowman minifigure, like Azog from last year, is a preview figure and will be available in a set to be released at a later date. The only unique aspect with this version of Bard is the fancy packaging. So for those of you who missed out, including me, you can rest assured knowing that the figure will come out and won’t exaclty cost you an arm and a leg to get it.

Unless of course you want the packaging….
