Lots of good stuff today and they all have the word LEGO in the title, so you KNOW it’s all official like! If you’re not stuck in that line for Unikitty, here’s some other things you’ll want to be present for:

Comingsoon.net is reporting that a Ninjago movie is in the works based on ‘positive reaction’ to the Lego movie trailer. Now, my reaction to the Lego movie trailer was as positive as to any trailer since Pacific Rim but I think that is because the movie looks witty and fun (and has a classic space guy), not because I really want more Lego movies for the sake of Lego movies.
I guess time will tell.
Thanks to our friends at Brickset for pointing us towards the article.
Update: Hollywood Reporter has a few more details on the project. Brothers Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman, who have a credit in The LEGO Movie, will be writing the Ninjago movie. They were also the writers behind the Ninjago television series on Cartoon Network so the movie should be in good hands.
For the 4th of July weekend, Toys R Us is offering a sale on “All Star Wars and Hero Factory.” Now, most of the deals are essentially null considering the “TRU tax” mark-up. However, there are a couple of actual discounts.
They’re also giving away a free 30086 Ninjago Hidden Sword ($4.99 value) “with ANY LEGO construction set purchase of $20 or more!” It looks like you might have to add it manually when shopping online. Watch out for that.
Sales are valid through July 2nd. Yeah, that’s right. TRU’s 4th of July sale ends on July 2nd.
Up next we have Ninjago, one of the strangest mash up themes I’ve ever encountered. Ninjas? Zombies? Now Snakes? What’s next? Bugs?
You heard it here first folks… bugs!
That samurai mech is pretty darn cool though, I must admit.
Just in case you haven’t blown all your money yet and feel like paying full price for stuff, LEGO Shop@Home now has the new 2012 Ninjago line. They are also offering free shipping if your order is $99 or more. Unfortunately, they’re out of the Holiday Set #2. Still, it’s waaaaay better than the prices at TRU right now for the new stuff. They’ve marked up everything: $2 for 9440 Venomari Shrine, $5 for everything else except for 9444 Cole’s Tread Assault. That one? That one they’ve marked up $10. These markups are across the board for LEGO sets. Let the holiday price gouging begin!
Target stores currently have a buy one get one free offer for Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Ninjago sets. People over in the forums are reporting that this promotion varies by store, so you may end up with a buy two get one free or a BOGO 30% off in your area. The online deal is BOGO 50%.
Online prices for the most part match MSRP, so 30-50% off is a good way to snag the new Harry Potter summer sets at a discount. You could even buy two Knight Buses and get a bunch of sweet purple elements.
