Amazon.com: Pre-order the New 2012 Star Wars Sets

Amazon.com has the latest wave of LEGO Star Wars sets up for pre-order and they have a ship date of January 29 23, beating LEGO Shop@Home’s estimate by a week. Free shipping on orders over $25 and no tax in many areas makes this a better deal than ordering directly through LEGO, that is if you don’t mind forgoing the exclusive poster celebrating these new sets (shout out to grogall at Eurobricks for the high-res poster images). All the sets are available with the exception of the two retailer exclusive sets, 9494 Anakin’s Jedi Interceptor and 9495 Gold Leader’s Y-Wing Starfighter.

FBTB Parts Draft Four: Freeco Speeder

The next FBTB Parts Draft will take place on Saturday January 14th at 10 am PST.

We’ll be drafting 10 copies of Star Wars set 8085 Freeco Speeder for $10 (shipping charges will be calculated later for each participant.)

You can see the inventory for this set on Bricklink.

The draft will follow essentially the same rules as the last draft.

Draft registration will commence on Thursday January 5th at 12 pm PST, which you can do in this thread here by simply posting “FREECO!” Feel free to post any and all questions or comments in the thread; however, anyone posting “FREECO!” before the clock hits noon on January 5th will be banned form participating. I will then confirm your registration via private message and give you PayPal payment instructions, and our draft order will be decided by the order of payment received from participants.

Review: 7965 Millennium Falcon

7965 Millennium Falcon Review

Why is it so hard to successfully make one of the most iconic ships from this franchise? Is it merely because it’s so iconic? All I know is after as many times as they’ve redesigned this I would expect them to at least make something worth settling for.

One Day Left to Enter the MOC Madness 2011 Building Tournament!

Image

Today is the final day to submit your entry for our MOC Madness 2011 Tournament. You have until midnight tonight (Pacific timezone)  – that’s 24 hours from the time this post appeared – to post your bounty hunter and ship. After the deadline passes you will not be able to enter, nor will you be able to update your entry or correct any issues. If you’re waiting until the last minute to post please make sure you’ve followed all the rules, and have your three photos ready: one of just your bounty hunter, one to display you ship, and another to demonstrate the prisoner compartment. Also, if this is your first time posting to the forum, try not to panic when you don’t see your entry right after you post it. A staff member simply needs to approve the post but it will be entered into the system as soon as you click submit so the timestamp will remain accurate.

I’m looking forward to the last minute entries and I should be online tomorrow night if you have any final questions.

MOC Spotlight: Steampunk Battle of Hoth

Man, we should really run another Steam Wars contest. This phenomenal scene by Flickr member M<0><0>DSWIM hits all the right notes for me. The AT-AT’s are great, but the smaller Snowspeeders and turrets are perfect as well.
