XBox 360 Hard Drive with LEGO Star Wars III

If you’re one of those gamers that need as much hard drive space for your Xbox that money can buy, and the idea of getting a free LEGO Star Wars game while upgrading said drive tickles your fancy, then Microsoft’s got a deal for you. Coming later this month is a 320gb hard drive that you can swap in for that 250gb or 4gb one and included on that drive is a code to download LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars for free. The drive will retail for $129.99 in the US and £79.99 in the UK.

[Can] Pirates Of The Caribbean Now 20% Off @ TRU + More!

Toys R Us Canada is now offering 20% off on all Pirates Of The Caribbean sets for two weeks, starting today and running until Sept. 22nd. All Cars LEGO is still 20% off until the 28th, so get your Pirates sets first. The 20% offer also includes all Atlantis, Pharoah’s Quest, Kingdoms, Racers & Technic sets which means that there’s a good chance Star Wars will be up the last week this month.

Also, for the gamers in the crowd, TRU has knocked an additional $5 off of their LEGO video game selection (excluding POTC for some reason) bringing games like LEGO Star Wars III down to just $14.97. That’s quite a savings considering it’s still $20 on Amazon in the US and still $25-$50 most places in Canada.

Additionally, you can hit the store on Saturday between Noon & 2PM for a FREE back to school LEGO build. They’ll only have between 50-100 per site so the early bird gets the worm, just be sure to bring a kid or a convincing excuse that your nonexistent kid is stuck in dance class.
Free brick is free brick.

New Clone Wars Game Trailer

More weird news exclusives: In the wake of MTV getting all Pirates of the Caribbean exclusive news, EntertainmentWeekly.com has a new game trailer for LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars. It’s so exclusive, I can’t even embed the video, so hence the low-res screenshot.

The game is due out this March 22 for all current major platforms, including the Nintendo 3DS. Maybe that’s why the game was delayed, for including some 3D effects? I can only hope so.

LEGO Star Wars III Delayed

Traveller’s Tales latest installment of LEGO-based video games, LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, has been delayed to March 22. Not much of a delay, so hopefully they’re taking the time to create a bug-free game, which they have yet to do. The game will be available on all current platforms.

New LEGO Star Wars III Gameplay Trailer

LEGO Star Wars III Screen Cap

Gotgame.com posted a new gameplay trailer of one of the epic battles that await you in the next LEGO Star Wars video game installment. Co-Project Lead Andrew Bell gives you a walkthrough on one battle that almost seems part real-time strategy and part hack’n'slash. I’d embed the video but they disabled that so you’ll have to hit this link to view it. The game is due out in March 2011 for all major platforms.

New LEGO Star Wars III Footage

LEGO Star Wars III

StarWars.com posted a new “web doc” video for the upcoming LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars game. Traveller’s Tales takes what they’ve learned form past games and improves the next and LEGO Star Wars III is no exception. In Indiana Jones, the gameplay may have seemed stale using the same tried and true methods, but based on this preview alone, it looks like there are enough new elements to keep it feeling fresh. Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars is scheduled for release February 1, 2011.

Thanks to CloneEmperor for the heads up.

Kotaku Previews LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars

Nahdar Vebb - LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars

Earlier today, Kotaku published a preview of the upcoming video game, LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars. It seems that with every LEGO game that Traveler’s Tales develops, they improve some aspect of the game engine and this game is no exception. An excerpt:

To deliver the experience of having multiple story lines in the game, Traveller’s Tales created levels that have you hot-swapping between storylines. While you’re playing one storyline, controlling a set of characters, you can see the other storyline preparing to unfold in a bubble-shaped window in the top right corner of your screen.

Shell said that during these moments, the game’s AI will take over for the windowed gameplay, making sure not to die, but also not completing the task at hand. This allows players to go through both story lines simultaneously, Shell said.
