LEGO Batman Movie Shipping Now

I just received my shipping notification LEGO Batman: The Movie – DC Super Heroes Unite. The movie’s official release date is tomorrow May 21, and the price as it stands now is $13.99 for the Blu-ray/DVD/Ultra-violet set, and $9.99 for just the DVD version. This “movie” collects all of the cut scenes from the LEGO Batman 2 video game into one feature. No matter which version you get, you’ll get the awesome mid-transformation Clark Kent/Superman minifig.

List of Exclusive Minifigs from Books, Movies, Video Games

Shirt Ripping Clark Kent

With the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey on Blu-ray/DVD tomorrow, and Target having their exclusive version that comes with an exclusive Bilbo Baggins minifigure, and with the announcement of the exclusive Special Forces Commander Clone Trooper minifigure included with The Yoda Chronicles book, I figured now would be as good of a time as any to make a checklist for all the exclusive minifigs that came with a book, video game, or Blu-ray/DVD release.

LEGO Batman: The Movie Available For Pre-order

LEGO Batman: The Movie

Remember back in October when the news broke of a LEGO Batman movie based on the video game DC Super Heroes Unite? Well we’ve finally heard news on it’s release and that comes with the not too shocking reveal of an exclusive minifig packaged with the movie. I find it more curious that after the Empire Strikes Out was announced the other day to be released in what appears to be DVD only format, here we are again with the DVD/BluRay combo pack. The pack comes with a Clark Kent/Superman figure I know many, including myself, have been hoping to see. It’s available for pre-order on Amazon with a release date of May 21st.

LEGO Batman: The Movie – Trailer

IGN just posted this trailer (previously screened at NYCC) for the upcoming LEGO Batman movie.  Take a look:

I have to say it seems a bit deceptively titled since it feels more like a LEGO Justice League movie with that setup. Sure, the tagline is DC Super Heroes Unite, but I can’t help but feel that Batman is pulling a few strings to make it seem like it’s all about him. Whatever the case, my immediate reaction to the trailer was “that giant joker bot would be awesome for our contest”. I have a one track mind. Looks fun though.

[NYCC] LEGO Batman 2 The Movie

Lego Batman 2 The Movie

IGN is reporting that a surprise trailer was screened at a pane’ at NYCC. The panel was for the sequel to the animated feature, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (which will be out next year) but the audience was treated to a preview of the LEGO Batman: The Movie – DC Super Heroes United.

The kid-friendly CG-animated toon sees the Joker and Lex Luthor team-up to take Gotham City apart “brick by brick,” which leads to Batman and Robin to join forces with Superman to stop them. The Justice League (specifically, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Cyborg, and Hal Jordan’s Green Lantern) appear in the movie, as do supervillains such as Penguin, Two-Face, Riddler, and Harley Quinn. Commissioner Gordon is also in the mix.
