Warner Bros and TT Games have given the final release date for LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham as November 11th in the US and November 14th worldwide. The 11th is a holiday in Canada, so it fits that it won’t be released until that Friday here. I look forward to that weekend and with any luck, I’ll get a chance to pick it up as soon as it drops. Don’t think I can wait until Christmas like I did last year with Marvel Super Heroes. They also released the final cover art for the game. I liked the previous promo art better…

DC Entertainment released a new trailer for their upcoming video game, LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. In terms of gameplay, nothing new is shown but instead the trailer focuses more on revealing the cast of characters. I wish I was more of a DC guy growing up cause I have no idea who most of those people are.
The plot is similar to LEGO Marvel Super Heroes wherein both super heroes and super villains team up to take down a common enemy. Adam West plays the role of the character constantly in danger throughout the game, like how Stan Lee was in LMSH. There’s a proper term for that character but it escapes me at the moment.
The game is scheduled to be released this holiday season around November 28th. Pre-order your copy today from Gamestop to get the exclusive Plastic Man figure pictured below.
Another trailer popped up for LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. This one came about during the San Diego Comic Con and since I never made it to the LEGO Batman 3 panel I assume this was shown there.
This game is honestly looking to be really GREAT. On par with and maybe even better than LEGO Marvel Super Heroes.
Ravenously waiting for the upcoming installment of LEGO Batman, well maybe this chat with the cast behind the game will quench that desire for a bit. You’ll watch it just for West though… and a great look at WW’s new invisible jet and a better classic Batmobile.
Yesterday at the LEGO booth, Warner Bros. Interactive was demoing a part of the upcoming LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham video game. It looks to be pretty similar to the LEGO games before. The demo showed us the inside of the Batcave from the classic television series. Batman, Robin, and Alfred work together to construct the Batmobile. After that, the demo continues and showcases some of the unlockable, playable characters that are in the game. Like the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes game before it, Beyond Gotham touts a roster of 150 characters for you to unlock. Adam West is the character in peril this time around like Stan Lee was for the Marvel game.
If you pre-order the game from Gamestop, you will get a LEGO Plastic Man as a bonus. The game comes out later this year for all current gaming systems including PS3 and Xbox 360, but not for Wii.
Lots of good stuff today and they all have the word LEGO in the title, so you KNOW it’s all official like! If you’re not stuck in that line for Unikitty, here’s some other things you’ll want to be present for:
LEGO is putting a push on the LEGO Batman 3: (finally) Beyond Gotham game at SDCC this year, with Bat related giveaways, unveilings and appearances by Adam West at the game panel and LEGO booth. IGN has shared the new CCI trailer for the game and it gives a better look at new abilities, costumes and transformations for not only Batman this time, but the other heroes AND villains. The inclusion of Bigfig versions of some characters that were previously done as regular minifigures like Killer Croc, have me wondering if we’ll be seeing Bigfigs showing up in DC sets soon. One way or another, I have my copy pre-ordered and can’t wait.
If you’re looking for something to do today, Saturday June 7th, Gamestop is hosting a LEGO Day at their retail locations offering deals on all things LEGO. Some of the older games priced at $19.99 are now 2 for $29.99. The most recent games, LEGO The Hobbit, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, and The LEGO Movie, are $10 off. And lastly, there are a few giveaways to take note of. Pre-order LEGO Batman 3 and get a free exclusive poster, get a free minifigure with any LEGO purchase, get a free LEGO Chima card (whatever the heck that is) for the iOS app with any LEGO purchase, and finally get a free Super Pack DLC with the purchase of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. You’ll also get 10% extra credit if you’re a Power Up Rewards member towards the purchase of a LEGO Game.
I’m headed down there to see if I can make amends for my laziness by not getting Good Morning Bilbo Baggins and Western Emmet the first time around.
LEGO followed up the announcement of Batman 3: Beyond Gotham with another stab at the not so old chestnut, we’ve quickly grown to love, pointing out that the bat does indeed have a sometimes wonderfully colourful wardrobe. If this is a sampling of the suits we’ll get to play in the new game, that gives even more hope to getting the newly unveiled space batsuit as well as this sweet version of the Batman of Zur-En-Arrh. Since they are the only unproduced suits in the poster, it’s not too unlikely.
A trip to Zur-En-Arrh fits with the theme of Brainiac shrinking worlds for his collection, he probably keeps the cities in his basement where no one can touch them. The video below is from DC All Access and gives a tiny bit of insight on the new game, it also drops a new villain who I’m assuming will be a big fig and mentions alternate suits or many characters, including one that will let Cyborg transform into… a washing machine. Yes please.
In hopes to one-up their rival, DC has decided to revisit their Batman franchise for a third game. Titled LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, the game finds Batman along with the other members of the Justice League out in space to thwart the evil plans of Brainiac who is the main villain of this game. The trailer shows us Batman in a new space suit along with a new character never before seen in LEGO form, Cyborg. Wonder Woman is also in a new suit, and Green Lantern is there just to tease us. There are reportedly over 150 playable characters to be used/unlocked in the game with Batman and his various suits making up 127 out of the 150 characters. And I’m totally kidding about the Batman bit, but there will indeed be more than 150 DC Universe characters in the game.
Escapist magazine was on hand at a special pre-E3 reveal and gives us their first impression. One of the more interesting bits of information from that article is that the Justice League and Legion of Doom team up to go up against Brainiac, who is the main villain of the game for this chapter. Kotaku UK also put up an article describing their first impression with the game.
There are some stills out today as well, shown below, giving us a sneak peek at some of the other characters and new suits. The game is slated for this fall and will be available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Wii U, 3DS, and PC. No word yet on the pre-order bonus figure to go with the game, but I secretly hope it’s the washing machine version of Cyborg.
