StarWars.com released a trailer earlier this week for their upcoming fifth season of The Clone Wars giving some hints as to what’s to come. Season 5 will premier sometime in the fall on Cartoon Network. Most likely on a Friday. At 8pm.
After last seasons teaser at the end of the “Nightsisters” arc, fans have been waiting to see the return old half ‘n half. If there’s one thing the Clone Wars is good at, it’s keeping viewers in suspense through incredibly long stretches between accompanying arcs. I’ve been waiting to see this tease pay off and it seems like it could be one of the best arcs of the season with the two part season finale starting on March 9th with the episode “Brothers”, then finishing March 16th with “Revenge”. Fans of the Nightsisters storylines should be in their glory for the next four weeks starting with tonights “Massacre”. I’m guessing this will be another arc I’d hessitate to let my son watch, but I can’t say no to anything that features the voice talent of Clancy Brown. There’s even a behind the scenes featurette about Sam Witwer’s work to bring Darth Maul to the small screen for those who enjoy an overdose of spoilers.
The four part season finale of The Clone Wars starts tonight with Massacre
Count Dooku is determined to have revenge against the Nightsisters of Dathomir after their betrayal. General Grievous launches an all-out droid attack against the magic-wielding witches, and Mother Talzin and Asajj Ventress lead the defense with all the dark powers at their command.
If you are not out at the cinema watching a certain film in 3D don’t forget to tune into the Clone Wars tonight
The Chancellor travels to Naboo to preside over a public ceremony, guarded by Jedi Knights. Dooku and his bounty hunters — including an undercover Obi-Wan Kenobi — launch their kidnapping plot.
The disguised Obi-Wan accompanies Cad Bane and Moralo Eval to Serenno, where they enlist in a brutal competition with other bounty hunters from around the galaxy to determine who will participate in a plot to kidnap the Chancellor.
Tonight brings the second chapter in the new four part story of the Clone Wars that sees Obi-Wan disguised as his own killer and on the run from his closest friends.
This Friday the Clone Wars sees Obi-Wan going deeper into danger
Fleeing across the galaxy with criminal fugitives, a disguised Obi-Wan, Cad Bane and Moralo Eval are tenaciously pursued by Anakin and Ahsoka, who have no idea they’re chasing their friend.
