Issue 13 of the AFOL magazine HispaBrick is available for download now on their website in both Spanish and English and as usual it has a lot to offer. This issue starts off on the right foot by interviewing one of my favourite LEGO photographers Vesa “Avanaut” Lehtimäki about his visits to the snow covered planet Hoth. There’s a interesting interview with LEGO Architecture’s Adam Reed Tucker and many great articles that include a look at Doctor Who’s influence on LEGO, modular castle building, the therapeutic value of LEGO as well as LEGO and Autism. With all that and more it’s a solid read, but the inclusion of The Brick Bang Theory diagram on the back is more than reason enough to take a look.

Are you looking to get away? Do you enjoy the excitement of cold weather sports and endlessly picturesque frozen vistas? Hoth is a vast, mostly unexplored world with millions of slopes waiting for their first descents. Covering more than 162 million square kilometers of breathtaking snow covered mountains there is terrain to suit every skier’s ability, be it steep couloirs or wide open glaciers. With sub-zero big game hunting and cozy tauntaun camp outs, Hoth is the frozen outer rim pearl with something for everyone! Defy Gravity, Ski Hoth Today!
(Spectacular poster by Avanaut)
With the snows of winter on the horizon (for some of us), Avanaut has returned to Hoth once again. He should feel right at home there as he’s been posting dynamite shots highlighting his unique style and particle effects expertise for two years this month. I’m not sure if a snowspeeder would have the necessary armour to knee-cap an AT-ST, but I’d like to think that if an Ewok can take one down anyone can.
