Amazon UK and US Discount 9493 X-wing Starfighter, 9492 TIE Fighter

If you live in the UK and don’t have enough X-wing fighters, you’ll be pleased to know that Amazon.co.uk has discounted 9493 X-wing Starfighter by a whopping 40%. New price is £29.98 compared to the list price of £49.99.

If you’re in US, you too can partake in a pretty nice deal. The same set is marked 25% off down to $44.97 from MSRP of $59.99.

Fans of the Imperial forces have cause to celebrate as well. I’m too late in posting Amazon.co.uk’s deal of 40% off of the awesome 9492 TIE Fighter, but Amazon US has it discounted 21% to $43.44, down from MSRP of $54.99.

Target Discounts 9492 TIE Fighter

Target.com has discounted the Empire’s staple swarm fighter 9492 TIE Fighter down to a whopping low $34.99, down from MSRP of $54.99. That’s a discount of over 35%, matching the best price we’ve seen on this set to date. Deal is good online only according to their website but you may be able to get lucky in-store as well. Use your Red Card for an additional 5% off and free shipping. Given enough time, Amazon may match the price so keep an eye out.

Target has also discounted their exclusive 9494 Anakin’s Jedi Interceptor by 25%, down to an even $30. Deal is good both online and in-store. There’s also a price mistake in their weekly flyer showing 7962 Anakin’s & Sebulba’s Podracers at the same price, $30, but ymmv on that one. Other sets on sale for $30 include Monster Fighters 9465 The Zombies and the discontinued Ninjago 9444 Cole’s Tread Assault.

Update: Amazon has now matched the price on the 9492 TIE Fighter.

Walmart Discounts Falcon, X-wing, TIE Fighter Sets

Walmart.com is currently rolling back prices on some original trilogy sets.

Amazon doesn’t show 7965 Millennium Falcon or 9492 TIE Fighter to be in stock, only third party resellers, and 9493 X-wing Starfighter already matches Walmart’s price.

Amazon Discounts LEGO Star Wars 20%

It was bound to happen and it finally did. Amazon is price matching Target’s 20% off of LEGO Star Wars sale.

Looking for older sets? Those are on sale too:

That’s all I could find. Oddly enough, none of the battle packs or the planet series are seeing the same discount.

[USA] 20% Off Star Wars, City, Duplo, Hero Factory at Target

9492

Target is having a sale that they’re touting as “the biggest LEGO sale ever!” I’ve seen bigger, but I won’t complain about a sale. It includes up to 20% off Star Wars, City, Hero Factory, and Duplo.

9492 TIE Fighter on sale for $35.20, down from their usual $44.99. I’ve always held back on this one with its initial $54.99 MSRP, but almost 40% off that, it’s a great deal. It even ships free! How slick is that? A lot of other sets ship free, though some require you to reach a $50 spending threshold.

Red card members get an additional 5%. According to this thread on Brickset, there is also a AAA discount as well as a $5-off-$50/ Free shipping discount from RetailMeNot.com.

Amazon Deal of the Day: 24% Off 9492 Tie Fighter

Amazon has discounted 9492 Tie Fighter by a whopping 24% off, down to $41.80. Now all LEGO has to do is redesign Vader’s TIE with the new cockpit windshield and my Death Star Assault Squadron will be complete.

Or I could just build it myself….

9492 TIE Fighter 25% Off at Amazon

[Update]
Looks like this deal is dead for now.

It’s only been a week and Amazon has already slapped a healthy discount on the new TIE Fighter. They’ve priced it at a much more attractive $41.49, but who knows for how long. If you’re considering this set (or if you need help deciding, check out our review), I recommend pouncing before they raise the price. Thanks to forum member nyjpapi for the heads up.

Review: 9492 TIE Fighter

9492 TIE Figher.JPG

If you’ve been collecting LEGO Star Wars since 1999 with any seriousness and/or obsessiveness, then there’s a good chance you have too many TIE Fighters. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, well, at least not from a certain point of view. You may say to yourself, “No more, please, I’m stuffed. I don’t have the room.” I don’t blame you. It’s only been a couple of years since the last TIE Fighter, the TIE Defender, sat on store shelves (and in some cases, may still), but we’re going on about 7 years since the last honest-to-goodness TIE Fighter, the signature fighter of the Imperial Navy and perhaps one of the most iconic Star Wars starfighters second only to the X-wing. You may be stuffed, you may have no room, but 9492 TIE Fighter may very well be a set you loosen your belt for. (more…)

LEGO Star Wars January 2012 Now Up for Preorder, Free Poster

Happy New Year, folks!

LEGO Shop@Home put up the January 2012 assortment of LEGO Star Wars for preorder. Delivery is to be expected on or around January 30. It should be noted that 9494 Anakin’s Jedi Interceptor and 9495 Gold Leader’s Y-Wing Starfighter are marked as “Hard to Find” meaning they are retailer exclusives. No word yet as to which retailer they will be exclusive to yet. All preorders will come with an exclusive LEGO Star Wars poster. No minimum order indicated and no image of what the poster looks like but if I had to guess, it’s going to be a poster showcasing all the LEGO Star Wars minifigs for 2012.

Is it sad that I’m no longer fazed by the high prices and low piece counts? Such as the TIE Fighter set, priced at $54.99 but has less pieces than Gold Leader’s Y-wing? Eh.
