So I mentioned to check the clearance aisles for deals. Now here come the official sales. First off we have Toys R Us, which in their latest e-mail flyer, which advertises “All LEGO Star Wars On Sale ALL WEEK LONG!” It also says:
Thing is, these discounts are not showing up online, and all four of these sets are marked up well over MSRP. Not sure what the deal is, but that “promotion” is running through January 1. You also get a free LEGO Star Wars backpack with $30+ purchase.
I’m extremely happy to report the final donation numbers to the FBTB Charity Drive. In total, we’ve received 1,195 donations. Like last year, FBTB will cover the fees that Paypal ding’s each donation, so I’ll be making a final contribution of $2,390 to Child’s Play.
Now, before I announce the raffle winners, I just want thank everyone again who donated $2, $10, $100, or whatever amount you donated. Every dollar counts and will go a long way to help children in need. Being a new(ish) father myself, my perspective on life has changed a lot. I can’t imagine what parents must be going through when their child is sick and hospitalized. Gift shopping is probably the last thing on their minds, and this is where Child’s Play steps up to the plate, by providing gifts to those sick kids. The holidays is all about giving, and your collective generosity means a lot. Thank you.

Target.com has a printable coupon for $10 off 8097 Slave I. Their current price reduction marks the set at $67.99. With the coupon, it brings the price down further to $57.99. Coupon is valid in-store only and good until December 24.

Of course, you can use that coupon on any other LEGO set if you’re so inclined.

Various reports are coming in that the August wave of LEGO Star Wars sets are starting to appear at Toys’R'Us stores. Below is a list of the MSRPs so keep in mind these prices when shopping, as TRU may and most likely will add their infamous markup:
The 8129 AT-AT Walker set is a TRU exclusive and their price is $109.99.
Target and Walmart stores are also clearing out some older stock, presumably to make room for the new wave, so you can probably score some nice discounts on stuff like the Pirate Tank, Venator, and other various sets. Happy Hunting!
