Walmart’s Got Bundles of Bundles

LEGO Star Wars Building Set 3-Pack Bundle

Walmart has online deals going this week on several bundles, including Star Wars, Harry Potter, City, and Ninjago.  You can even customize your own “bundle” and score 2 for $20, 2 for $30, 2 for $40, 2 for $50, or 2 for $60.  Though not exactly a door-buster-type deal, this is a great way to take the edge off of some of those smaller kits, or add a few bonuses onto a larger purchase (like the Millennium Falcon, Imperial V-wing, and Mando Pack bundle for $139.97).

Thanks to forum user GrayMattR for the tip.

[UK] Asda sale on Star Wars Lego including 70% off 7929 Battle of Naboo!

Asda are very rapidly becoming the place to get Lego in the UK.  Despite these sets only just being released, they’ve decided to discount the Star Wars sets they stock by some rather nice discounts :

7929 Battle Of Naboo – RRP £25.99 – Asda Price £8

7913 Clone Trooper Battle Pack – RRP £9.99 – Asda Price £6.97

7914 Mandalorian Battle Pack – RRP £9.99 – Asda Price £6.97

7915 Imperial V-Wing Starfighter – RRP £21.99 – Asda Price £14.97

None of these sets appear to be on their website and what sets your local Asda stocks may vary.  I had to wait a few days for my local store to get any of the Battle Of Naboo sets in stock.  But today they got some, so I bought 3, leaving 9 left on the shelf.

There are some savings on older sets too :

8092 Luke’s Landspeeder – RRP £25.99 – Asda Price £18.47

8083 Rebel Trooper Battle Pack – RRP £9.99 – Asda Price £8

8084 Stormtrooper Battle Pack- RRP £9.99 – Asda Price £8

These are all available online too.

Set Guide Updated: 2011, User Comments and Ratings

I just updated the LEGO Star Wars set guide with the January assortment of 2011 sets. Some images and data are still missing which I’m working on obtaining. But now that 2011 has been entered, I’ll be working my way backwards and adding previous years of sets and some other licenses.

In addition to the new catalog entries, there are two new features announced on the forums a few weeks ago that I’d like to share with you here:

  • User Comments: User comments have been enabled allowing registered forum members to give a brief review of any set. The comments are moderated but once given the green light, the latest 5 comments will appear in the set guide. An example of the user comments in action can be seen on the 8092 Luke’s Landspeeder page. You can leave a rating on its corresponding forum topic.
  • User Ratings: In addition to comments, registered forum members may also give a numerical rating to a set and all ratings will appear on the right hand column of the entry page. Again, I point you to 8092 Luke’s Landspeeder page as an example. You can leave a rating on its corresponding forum topic.

I’ve read many comments that the set guide was one of the first pages that users encountered on FBTB. I’ve put a lot of work into its resurrection, and still have some features I’m working on that I can’t wait to release. It’s my goal to make the set guide the best it can be, and I can only accomplish that goal with your help. It’s my hope that you, the community members, will take a few moments to leave some comments and rate some sets to really strengthen the set guide. See some errors? Have suggestions? Use the contact form or leave a message on the set guide forum.

[USA] Walmart.com Battle of Endor + Landspeeder Bundle $99

8038 The Battle of Endor 8092_box_na_front

ufjason shares with us a pretty sweet bundle over at Walmart.com, which combines 8038 Battle of Endor and 8092 Luke’s Landspeeder for $99.

This is online only, but you can use free site to store shipping. Depending on how you want to look at it, you either get 20% off both sets or a free 8092 with purchase of 8038. Not too shabby.
