Have you seen just the raw vomit that is Michael Bay’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? I won’t post the images here for 1) once seen, cannot be unseen, and 2) I don’t want to sully the homepage. Rebel against the overbloated ego that is Bay and his ability to rend franchises into oblivion and treat yourself to some Nickelodeon TMNT toys. Amazon is currently discounting 79104 The Shellraiser Street Chase by 25%, bringing the asking price down to $44.99 before any tax if applicable. Set will ship for free. Granted it’s probably the worst set out of the current line, but it’s leagues better than anything Bay will do with the movie.

If you’re like me and stuck at home today cause you’re watching the kids and don’t want to go out in the rain, you can take advantage of several LEGO deals in Amazon’s Gold Box. The sets vary across themes and price points but I’m sure there will be things you’ll want to pick up. Gold Box deals tend to be claimed in a seconds so act fast on that mouse. A couple of upcoming deals include 76008 Iron Man vs. The Mandarin Ultimate Showdown, 21103 The DeLorean Time Machine, 79104 The Shellraiser Street Chase, and 9474 The Battle of Helm’s Deep just to name a few. The Gold Box price will be an additional discount on Amazon’s current selling price for the set.
Thanks again to Gooker1 for the tip.
Today is the 19th, also known as on-sale day for TMNT through LEGO Shop@Home. If you missed out on Amazon, you can still order in time for Christmas delivery so long as you choose Express Shipping at checkout. It’s a bit of a premium but isn’t it worth your child’s/nephew’s/niece’s/grandchild’s happiness? You can’t put a price on that now can you?
Full list below.
Just a quick note since I’m tired. First up is Amazon selling The Hobbit sets at a 20% discount. Example: 79010 The Goblin King Battle is regularly $99.99 but it is now $79.99. 79000 Riddles for The Ring is the worst deal since they’ve already marked it up a few bucks over MSRP. After discount, the set only falls to $9.49, a whopping 50 cent discount. They’re out of 79003 An Unexpected Gathering, but you can pick up 79001 Escape from Mirkwood Spiders and 79002 Attack of the Wargs at 20% less than MSRP.
And lastly, Amazon has stocked up on some more TMNT sets. In addition to 79104 The Shellraiser Street Chase that we’ve reported previously, they also have 79101 Shredder Dragon Bike, 79102 Stealth Shell in Pursuit, and 79100 Kraang Lab Escape in stock as well. No discount on the turtle stuff unfortunately but they are brand new in every sense of the word and can make some kids very happy this Christmas.
Can’t wait ’til the 19th? Neither can I which is why I just ordered myself 79014 The Shellraiser Street Chase from Amazon a minute ago. This is the only set in stock that is both shipped and sold by Amazon, the other TMNT sets are sold by third party resellers, so buyer beware. Just a matter of time before Amazon gets the others I imagine, but this one looks like it’s the best set out of the bunch. Price is $59.99
Thanks to ninnymuggins for the heads up and no thanks to him for making me spend another 60 bucks.
Eagle-eyed reader Keith wrote in to inform us that LEGO Shop@Home has put up the individual product pages for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle sets. The theme page is not live yet, but they will be available for sale on December 17th.
Bothan Spy over at Eurobricks (I know…) found images for the initial TMNT line set to be released next year. We’ve already seen 79104 Shellraiser Street Chase, 79102 Stealth Shell in Pursuit, and 79103 Turtle Lair Attack. We now see the other three sets 79105 Baxter Robot Rampage, 79101 Shredder’s Dragon Bike, and 79100 Kraang Lab Escape.
This set will be unveiled at the 2012 New York Comic Con on Thursday October 11. Rick “GIR3691″ Theoroux will be there to shoot pictures and provide a first hand impression of the set.
Before you slam the appearance of the Shellraiser, you should keep in mind the context in which the Shellraiser came to be. The turtles don’t have money or the resources that people like Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark have, so they make do with what they can find on the streets.
