I shot the time lapse video of me building 76023 The Tumbler way back when I built the set for our review but I just now finally got around to posting it. I don’t have exact numbers, but I think the set took me about 6 or 7 hours to build with some breaks in between while I wrangled with my kids and other house duties. Anyway, take a gander if you’d like.

It looks like LEGO Shop@Home for North America finally got their act together and is now offering 76023 The Tumbler for sale. Its price tag is $199.99 and comes with Batman and The Joker minifigures and 1,869 pieces. In case you’re too lazy to scroll, we recently reviewed the set which can be found right here.
When LEGO released the first images of 76023 The Tumbler, there was a collective gasp heard from the internet. But to be honest, there was something about it that just seemed off to me and I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. After having built my review copy and staring at it for a while now I finally figured out what it is that I don’t like about it.
But before I get into, here is a breakdown of how this review is going to be done: I’ll be splitting up this review over 5 parts. Part 1 will be an analysis of the packaging of the shipping box with an in-depth interview of the DHL package carrier. Part 2 will be a review of the numbered bags along with weights and measurements of each bag. Part 3 will be a photo gallery of every step of the building process. Parts 4 will be the actual review. And, finally, Part 5 will be where we reveal the final score. We’ll be spreading out the review over the next 5 weeks with a post going up every Sunday evening. So buckle up and get ready for our most extensive review ever!
The box art for the highly anticipated LEGO Batman set 76023 The Tumbler has been discovered. Brickfinder posted the above image on his Facebook page. Even the box art looks pretty darn good.
76023 The Tumbler is $199.99 and goes on sale at LEGO Shop@Home and Brand Retail locations for VIP Early Access on August 18th with general public access starting September 1st.
When USAToday revealed the latest D2C exclusive set, 76023 The Tumbler, to be honest I was more impressed by the minifigs than the actual vehicle. Something just looked off about it, I don’t know… maybe too many studs… but after seeing the model in person today at the San Diego Comic Con, I have to say it is REALLY impressive. It manages to capture all of the nooks and crannies, angles, all kinds of fine details you probably never knew it had. I can’t wait to get my hands on it. I snapped off a few pics, but it was quite difficult to get some good shots with it being in a glass case and all. In any case, they are available after the jump.
A few hours ago, USA Today revealed LEGO’s newest Ultimate Collector’s Set, The Tumbler from The Dark Knight. The Tumbler, based on Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, will be on display at the San Diego Comic Con this week starting Wednesday July 23rd. The LEGO Tumbler has 1,869 pieces, will retail for $199 and will be available starting in September. The Brand Retail store calendar for August shows an early bird access on August 18th which I can only assume is for this set. Included in the set are two minifigs: Christian Bale’s Batman and Heath Ledger’s Joker, pictured below.
First impression? Too many studs.
