Amazon Discounts 10224 Town Hall by 24%

10224

Amazon has put a pretty nice discount on 10224 Town Hall. The price now stands at $151.41, a 24% drop from MSRP $199.99. Shipping is free and there is no tax to most states. Usually you have to wait until the holidays to see a nice discount on the modular buildings.

Amazon Discounts Some Stuff

Don’t like the new stuff? Still need to catch up? Looking for the old stuff on discount? Well this post is for you as Amazon has put some of the current wave of sets as well as some long-in-the-tooth exclusives on the discount rack. I’m kind of not surprised at the discounts we’re seeing for some of the current sets. With all the new themes and sets coming in, they’ve gotta make room somehow. Today, we’re seeing a few discounts that are worth mentioning, assuming, of course, that you didn’t break the bank/max out the credit cards/incite the wrath of your significant other already.

[US] Big Sets Discounted at Walmart.com, Amazon.com

UCS SSD

Browsing through the Walmart.com inventory, they have a number of large discounts on the larger Star Wars sets, as well as various other $100+ items. Here are some notable deals:

>>10188 Death Star is $357.89 ($399.99 MSRP)
>>10221 Super Star Destroyer is $335.99 (MSRP $399.99)
>>10225 UCS R2-D2 is $151.19 (MSRP $179.99)
>>10217 Diagon Alley is $125.99 (MSRP $149.99)
>>Modular Building Series is around $120 range ($149.99 MSRP), though most are sold out online.
>>(10224 Town Hall is $161.97 (MSRP $199.99).
>>10231 Shuttle Expedition is $78.27 ($99.99 MSRP)
>>10220 Volkswagen T1 Camper and 10219 Maersk Train are $99-100 (MSRP $119.99)

All of these qualify for $.99 Shipping or free Site-To-Store Shipping, though I’ve heard some troubling stories about Walmart’s shipping quality. Amazon.com has already price-matched some of these like 10231 Shuttle Expedition, 10224 Town Hall, and 10225 R2-D2, and they also qualify for Free Super Saver Shipping.

[USA] March Promotions from LEGO Shop @ Home

Town Hall

March is bringing us some slick deals at LEGO S@H.

Firstly, you get double VIP points for all purchases in-store and online March 1st-15th.

You’ll also get free shipping on orders of $75 or more from March 12th through 31st, so if you bide your time, the VIP deal and free shipping promotions will overlap a few days starting on the 12th.

Also, the 10224 Town Hall modular was released today. You’ll rack up 399 VIP points with that purchase.

Finally, spend $35 on Star Wars LEGO and receive a free poster. It’s the same one as the pre-order deal back in January, so if you waited on the new 2012 sets, you didn’t miss out. Actually, you’re getting a better deal. Oh yeah, and if you spend $50 on Star Wars, enjoy 30% off the Imperial Royal Guard Magnet. That’s been around a few years, but if it’s still being manufactured, it’ll be glued together.

Sneak Peek Of 10225 R2-D2

10225 R2-D2 Sneak Peek?

If you had the chance to watch the video LEGO posted highlighting the new Town Hall modular, you might have noticed a couple of easter eggs in the first few seconds. If you missed it no worries, the screenshots are presented for you here in all their low-res glory. I know I wasn’t the only one disappointed that the 10225 R2-D2 didn’t make an appearance at Toy Fair, but this is a nice tease to tide us over until it’s unveiled at some future gathering of geeks. I have little doubt this was unintentional on LEGO’s part and still expect to see a proper press release in the future.

Thanks to Walter Boy for the heads up, because I rarely watch the videos. I’m more of a picture guy…

But wait, there’s more. How about a modular sized Haunted House that could be in line with the upcoming Monster Fighters theme?

Good eyes people, good eyes.

10224 Town Hall Revealed

10224 Town Hall - 1

I love me some modular buildings. 10224 Town Hall, though, takes the cake. The largest modular building set to date, it weighs in at 2,766 pieces and will set you back $199 USD. It has some pretty impressive details such as brick-built columns that are NOT made of the 2×2 round bricks with grille, the elevator, and the skylights. Start budgeting your pennies now, this set will be available starting March 2012.

More pics below, press release after that.
