This model was begat when someone on the forums asked for suggestions on ways to do the stick-pipe-pylon-arm thingies on the y-wing engines. Well, I failed kindergarten, so rather than share, I kept my idea for myself, and here you have it. And the rest of a Y-wing, too.

Rather than just say "It's minifig scale", I'll tell you it yields a minifig height of 5'7", which seems like minifig scale to me. It's only about an inch longer than the official one.

I didn't want to go any bigger, because we all know what a pain it is making round-looking cylinders beween 4 and 8 studs in diameter.

I probably should've used white cylinders, but it simply wasn't worth the effort it'd take to extricate them from my shuttle.

I'm not super-happy with the cockpit. Although I like the shape the 2x4 wedge bricks yield, 10 studs across looks too wide, and 8 looks too thin, and I was too lazy to try 9 ;)

The cockpit interior. The handle on that plate is supposed to look like a joystick. Not sure if that comes across in the photo.

Here it is on a father-son picnic with the UCS version, just before the three-nacelled race.
