For a long time, I've been saying I wouldn't bother doing a UCS version of this ship, because the official measurement is so small, and the system version is so out of scale, I thought there would be little for me to do other than dress up the system version and make it a little longer. 6 centimeters to be precise. That's how much longer this is than the system set, and this is actually narrower, yet it's spot on classic UCS scale. The Jedi Starfighter is a DINKY, DINKY ship. When you make the A-WING look huge, you know you've achieved true tininess!

As you can see, though, I found a way to build it that's utterly different from the system version.

The dark red parts, for example, are supposed to be proportionatley smaller than they are in the system version, and I felt the angled mounting just didn't look right compared to the movie model.

I'm not 100% sold on this windscreen; it's a little too wide, but it gives the model a UCS feeling of being in a different scale, which no smaller windscreen parts did.

The interior. I don't know if the real seat is sand blue or not, and I don't care. I got bored of brown and black ones.

I debated the nose for a while. It was a choice between giving it a flat edge, or a fine point, both of which are real features. In the end, I went with the fine point since it gives the model a more unique look. The holes aren't as big an eyesore as you'd imagine; you scarcely notice them in real life. Anyway, hope you like it!
