Not exactly my favorite ship, but my LEGO-brain started trying to figure out how to build the cockpit, and I couldn't stop myself.

One of my beefs with this ship is its tiny size. In UCS scale, this model works out to 6.72 meters long, which is pretty tiny for Star Wars. However, judging by the size of the protruding R2 unit, my model may be as much as 50% too big.

I had to semi-cheat with that web radar on the front. My original design had a minifig TIE windscreen there, but it messed with the sense of scale and made the cockpit too fat.

I'm not entirely convinced the side panels should hang down. I suspect they actually have a more taper-like shape, like the original JSF, but it's hard to say for sure.

Interior. Seat design mercilessly stolen from ThePaleMan. The upper half of the front panel is trans panels, so the pilot could theoretically see out quite easily. The lower half is blocked by computer tiles and such.

This is actually the second version of this model. There's been a lot of subtle changes, but the basic construction was similar enough.

Anyway, despite not being my favorite ship, this was a fun building project and a nice chance to use these 3 windscreen pieces I'd had lying around forever. I think it's reasonably accurate, considering the paucity of source material, but who knows ? Only time will tell.
