"But Gareth, don't you already HAVE a UCS TIE bomber?"

Well, yes and no, fictional inquirer. You see, the other TIE bomber is minifig scale (or there-abouts) so, while it's very cool-looking, and arguably more accurate than this one, it doesn't fit Classic UCS scale.

This model is, believe it or not, something of a quickie, coming together in only 4 days (not counting wait-for-parts time.)

I built it mostly because I thought of this unique way to do it, and I wanted to have another bash at a 1/24th scale bomber in the classic LEGO TIE color scheme.

I'm quite pleased, but I think I'm beginning to prefer the other color scheme and, as I've said before, the interceptor's windscreen isn't REALLY correct for the bomber.

Now you know what happened to all the dark grey from my failed SSD.

Here it is being escorted by my modified interceptor. Well, head on over to the FBTB forums and let me know which bomber you prefer! Wow, lotsa links in this gallery, huh?
