Available in June

We purposefully forewent covering any sets that were scheduled for March, this includes Super Heroes, and Star Wars, simply because they should already be hitting store shelves right now. This was the only Super Heroes set revealed at the show that wasn't slated for March, 76022 X-Men 1, which is probably a working title. Not even a new Batman set was shown. Some observations: The Sentinel makes great use of the new micro ball joints found prominently in the Mixels line. Storm's cape was made of a fabric material that was different than the normal material used for previously seen capes. Also, her cape actually attaches at her wrists. This is a great minifigure of Ororo Munroe of her original costume. Now that being said since it is not mohawk Storm, I am still disappointed. Cyclops looks good, but feels a little lazy. A custom headpiece with an actual visor would have been nice. Wolverine looks fantastic with a new headprint that is doublesided. One side looks like he is wearing shades or a visor, which may look a little funny, but makes total sense once you put his mask on. THIS IS WHAT THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE WITH BATMAN. The jet is a good size and can fit all of the minifigs. It has a nice heft with a high swoosh factor. Anyways, on to the pictures:

The price on that is a joke

... Or have I just not been paying enough attention to recent pricing trends?

Hot gorram... I was just thinking I was done with Lego Marvel and then this pops up, and now that I see the price I'm back to thinking I'm probably still done with it :P Ouch, $50 for just over 300 pieces? That's gonna be £45-50 quid in the UK, not gonna fork over that for it, cool as it is. It's not the greatest X-Jet though, nice for a smaller piece count and would be acceptable if the price was £30, but for £50 odd I really would expect something a bit more substantial.

All that aside though, heck yes Wolverine cowl and Cyclops minifigure! (boo to another Magneto, even if it is a new 80's era outfit.)

"X-men 1"
Doesn't it say on the box: "X-men Vs. the Sentinel"?
As for the set itself, it looks pretty good.

Personally I like the set, though the jet is a little odd. Whether it's good deal or not, I still will get it.

I know, it make Ecto-1 at $50:508 look like a steal.

Jet looks dinky and that sentinel is just a joke. I had such high hopes for this one, especially after seeing how awesome the sentinels were in the videogame.

Very cool set, and I'm glad that everything on the Sentinel appears to be printed. $50 is pretty steep for the piece count, though!

Sentinel looks pretty puny and the jet a little light but the mini-figs have got me excited!

Actually thinking it over and ignoring the piece count this doesn't seem so bad, I would argue it's better value than Hulk's Helicarrier breakout. With that you got 3 minifigs repeated in other sets, a unique bigfig, a nice jet and an ok playset. With this there's a decent sized jet, a brick built bigfig of sorts, 2 minifigs with new prints and parts and 2 unique.

Still a bit steep but I think looking at it that way it's easier to swallow. A tad at least.

I really dig the design of the aircraft (not too big on X men), but do you think it looks a bit flimsy? LEGO's solution for Storm's cape is pretty clever. I guess it's made out of stretchy material so as not too hinder play?

The Sentinel is growing on me, the jet is not. It's called the Blackbird so why is it blue? Sigh, I guess this was the case with TIE fighters and the Batman Bat so now it's Marvel's turn to have a too blue vehicle.

Loving the new figs, been waiting for a hooded Wolvie for so long and had given up hope. Loving the new Cyclops, perfect as is! Does Storm come with a double sided face showing her weather control eyes? First impression of the Sentinel is that its the best i could expect from Lego and is actually more cute than menacing. Still gonna have fun with these new joints and Wolvie beheading the mech. The jet I'm not keen on. Don't get me wrong, the build looks great and very swooshable, but I'm partial to the SR71 version. Ever since io owned the old GI Joe SR71 its been my fave stealth jet in like EVAR! I'll get this on sale for sure.

I like the jet, and Cyclops is my favorite X-Men, so he's a must. But the set is too expensive. Will wait for a sale, or get Cyclops loose.

In fairness, it has often been more blue than black in the comics too and indeed the first film

http://i1119.photobucket.com/albums/k62 ... kbird5.jpg

it sort of flings and flangs over whether it really is the Blackbird or not. I get the feeling someone at Lockheed Martin got a bit touchy, so now it's more often the "X-Jet". In First Class it was pretty explicitly the SR-71 but most other iterations are just inspired by it.

It's more the shape of the cockpit that irks me, it's a bit too rounded, not sharp enough, and the window is too large. To me everything shown in image QO5C4102 is near enough perfect, it's everything out of shot in that picture I take issue with :P

I have to say it's growing on me though. Bad news for my wallet (Though to my mind $50 is good value, but I know it'll end up being more than just the exchange rate of that when it gets its UK price...)

Bit of a shame that they didn't invert the colours on Magneto's helmet. Looks weird on that outfit. Good thing they gave him the hairpiece too. I don't know if Magneto even wore his helmet when he had that costume, since it was when he was temporarily head of the Xavier Institute, and thus didn't need the protection from Charles.
