Postby Solo » Sat Dec 07, 2013 7:15 pm

This is now the polling thread for the ships shown above. This poll will be open for exactly 48 hours so get those votes in quick! You can still view the entries below. Contestants: this is a friendly reminder that no changes are allowed after the deadline, so your posts will be locked and if any of the photos in them change you will be disqualified.

This is the submission thread for the pilots listed above. Your letter this round is L.

The deadline for this round is 8pm Pacific time next Wednesday, December 11th.

Post your starfighter photos below. Include up to three photos and label them as follows: one you'd like to use as the polling image, one demonstrating the letter, and one showing your pilot in the cockpit. Standard photography restrictions apply.

Hi All (once again)! Behold the L-Wing fighter of Pokludix Zaa. I hope you enjoy!

The Mk.V “Hellion” L-Wing, produced by Elsinore-Cordova Engineering, was one of the most expensive starfighters ever made, due mainly to its paired EC Turbodyne thruster power plant and of course its highly advanced EMP missile system with replete unobtainium warheads, each one capable of incapacitating a full-line Imperial Star Destroyer. Not to mention its fancy blue paintwork whose pigment was derived from the shells of the highly endangered cadraska periwinkle of the planet Morjakar (Cularin System).

When Pokludix Zaa was tasked, by the Jedi, with getting into and winning a high stakes card game in order to reinforce a tactical relationship with a local Hutt crime lord (Hutts of course being resistant to those Jedi mind tricks), he needed a seriously pricey ride to help emphasise his high roller credentials.

Master Yoda himself said, “Fly the Hellion L-Wing to the game Pokludix Zaa will. Like a real player he will look. Hee, hee, hee, hee…”

Remarkably, Zaa piloted the L-Wing to the game without a scratch and handed it over, safely, to the valet parking attendant. But will he succeed in entering and winning the high stakes game? Impossible to see, the future is…

I put a few more shots (including a rear view and more overhead shot) on Flickr, so please take a look if you have time. Cheers!

This Tycoon Industries L-Class was a heavy lift freighter in various ports of Bespin before it was hi-jacked by a ring of slave-traders from Tatooine, and piloted to the edge of Coruscant's atmosphere. Upon arrival at the drop zone (a long dead Mon Calamari battle cruiser), the ship was torn apart and retrofitted for the deadlier purpose of bounty hunting. Knowing full well that the governing forces of Bespin were tied up in repetitious council meeting after repetitious council meeting, the slave traders returned the ship to Cloud City, where one Cato Stile claimed the now weaponized ship in an illegal game of cards.

The newly retrofitted L-class features a rocket box filled with 24 fusion missiles, high frequency soundwave antenna ,and a mining grade rail-cannon.
