j-Wing Heavy Assault Starfighter
In one of her many post-teaching jobs, Elma found herself test-piloting for the Koensayr Corporation. Impressed with her skills as a pilot and her ability to clearly assess and grade the quality of engineering work, she soon found herself logging hours testing their flagship project - the j-Wing Heavy Assault Starfighter

(please excuse the dodgy mount - it was hard to get this sucker to stand up straight - it's fine for swooshing but I don't think anyone needs to see my arm holding it up)

Unnecessary background:

Following the Battle of Endor and in response to the success of Slayn & Korpil's B-Wing Heavy Assault Starfighter, the Koensayr Corporation began development of a rival heavy duty starfighter to replace their obsolete Y-Wing. After years of development, the J-Wing Heavy Assault Starfighter.

Employing a copycat gyrostabilzed cockpit and centrally mounted engine the early prototypes of the J-Wing led to Slayn & Korpil unsuccessfully suing Koensayr for several copyright infringements. Koensayr's blatant copying was saved by their main point of innovation: the unique discharge energy shielding system protecting the cockpit. Incoming energy form enemy fire that would normally deplete the shields or disable electronics (ion canons) is able to be redirected forward from the collector in front of the cockpit.

The legal actions which were still pending when the J-WIng entered service and served only to provide a giant publicity boost as Koensayr sold their new fighter and the "tougher, faster, more heavily armed B-Wing". Early sales were strong but the fact that they didn't mention "more expensive and less reliable" than the B-Wing saw these sales drop off rapidly.

Nevertheless the J-Wing is a very well armed and armored heavy fighter which includes:
-2 Heavy ion canons
-2 Heavy Laser canons
-2 Directional blasters
-2x2 fixed heavy blasters (body mounted)
-2 light autoblasters (cockpit mounted)
-4 proton torpedo tubes (4 torpedoes each)
-4 concussion missile tubes (4 missiles each)

XYZ’s first assignment is a single hit mission to destroy a fast approaching asteroid that is coming at high speed towards Planet Jaak-Rtaa.

He’s piloting JINX-168, a small-medium starfighter, manufactured by Javalican Fleet Engineering at Jaak-Rtaa Assembly Facility for single-hit assault missions. This single-pilot starfighter is equipped with a rapid-pulse J2G gatling cannon (optional), and an oversized single-fire BlasTech J-16 Hyperphoton Torpedo.

This light J-shaped starfighter is powered by a single cryogenic power generator that is also functioned as an upgraded hyperdrive motivator.

Impressive. Uniquely different and style and similar in skill level. This looks the closest head to head battle so far.

Nice use of the lime! A very underrated color. And I'm really loving the design of the rotating cockpit of the other one. This is going to be a difficult decision.
