Also available today is 41999 4x4 Crawler Exclusive Edition LEGO Technic set. This set was designed by a Russian fan and chosen out of over a thousand submissions to be turned into an official set. There is a limited production run on this set of only 20,000. Each set will come with a unique license plate number ensuring each model to be unique. It is chock full of details such as dark blue technic panels, a working motorized winch, and Power Functions headlights. Did I also mention it's remote controlled? It is currently back ordered as I write this, with shipping estimated to be in 30 days. Price is $199.99.

I was expecting a Jeep or tuck, not a lifted muscle car. Interesting choice.

This was my favorite entry, so I'm glad this one won. Is it available in stores too?

For all purposes, this set is sold out. It is not even listed on s@h. And Ebay has gone nuts. It is an amazing set.

Wow, has there even been another set that sold out this quickly? I think they only made 20,000 of them. I ordered two the day they became available and got them within a week. I was planning on building one this weekend as it looks like an amazing set.

I'm thinking LEGO will do another run of these.

I hope that they do not do another run, that would be awful. I got 2 and opened 1 for building (plate number 15908). It looks awesome and I can't wait to finish it tonight.

Kinda sad, my Mom ordered one as she is super into Technic, and there was some error processing it on the Lego website (a hold was placed on her card 10 days ago, and then eventually removed).

I'm hoping she gives them a call to find out exactly what happened, since she received no email or any notice about it.

Awful if you view LEGO as a collectible investment rather than a toy, I suppose. Otherwise, I fail to see how doing another run of a set that sells through this fast would be anything but good. Obviously, since they (rather unfortunately, IMHO) sold it as such a collectible, any new run would have to have some sort of difference. Certainly wouldn't have the different license plates.
