Postby Staff » Thu Jul 18, 2013 11:00 am

Star Wars AT-AP

Today, LEGO revealed a new Star Wars set slated for 2014, AT-AP. This appears to be a complete remake of the 2008 AT-AP Walker featuring a third leg, a different styled clone trooper, a Wookie, and some battle droids. We'll post more information as we get it so stay tuned.

Hopefully this means that Lego will release sets for The Revenge of the Sith!

It did, but I think most pictures showed it with the third leg retracted.

For the sake of decency.

This was a fairly underrated set when it originally came out, and I'm excited to pick up another one to go with my original. I may not like the PT movies all that much, but it's pretty fun to set up Clone Wars displays...

I can't work out what's going on with that Wookiee. Why is part of him white? Is that printing or is he holding something?

Looks like a shoulder pad to me.

Ya, I'm not sure either. A quick search didn't turn up any better pics but I'm sure we will get a more zoomed in image soon.

You know, I always did like those indented visors...I know they went by the wayside years ago, but I always thought they gave the helmets a rather interesting look to them. Shame to see the last refuge be converted over.

I downloaded the photo, then zoomed in, and it looks like some kind of shoulder armor.

The set looks decent, but that middle leg looks pretty unimpressive. I'm sure the Technic beams let it retract the best, but there's got to be a way to make it look better with Technic bricks instead (so they could be bulked up). Heck, just looking at pictures of the thing for the first time, I can see that the segments of the leg are designed to interlock when folded, rather than the whole thing being the same width.

It is shoulder armor, and the Wookie is Tarfful. If you google a picture of him you will see he is wearing armor. He also carrys a blaster rifle, which is also shown in the AT-AP set.

I'm not impressed with this year's SDCC reveals, especially this AT-AP.

Was hoping for more set info if not pics.

If this set is an indication that the January 2014 sets will be RotS based, then at least my wallet will be happy, since I quit buying PT sets.
