Wolverine & the X-men #36 - LEGO Variant Cover

A little digging has turned up two more Marvel LEGO variant covers with Wolverine & The X-men #36 above and Marvel Universe Avengers Assemble #1 below courtesy of Newsarama & Comics Alliance respectively. Finally, we see a character that hasn't appeared yet in minifig form. Yay, Falcon! They seem to be trickling out steadily now as September gets closer. We'll keep you updated as they appear.

I'd like to see a helmeted Thor Minifigure. Also, that Falcon looks pretty sweet. If only they were real...

I'm a little "meh" about these covers. Maybe some of those yet to be revealed will pique my interest.

I tracked down the "All-New X-Men #17" LEGO variant cover illustrated by Leonel Castellani

I love the Wolverine cover, but when I look at the mask, it says "Sunfire" to me, not Wolverine. Probably something to do with the general shape and the nose detail (the black should come down to a point, right?). I hope that when the LEGO group decides to make a real masked Wolverine minifig, they'll have figured out how to improve on this design.

I'd say the biggest thing which would have made them "pop" more for me would be coloring them more like the Lego video game posters. I own some of the original comics, and by comparison these covers seem to have a lot of bright primary color use, and not enough darker shading.

TMD-Bill, Nice!

MyrmidonX, minifigs don't have noses, that's probably why. I do see what you mean though.

Thanks, Murphquake. You know, I got so excited about these Lego Marvel covers, I sketched one of my own!

It also got me thinking about how Lego might handle Wolvie's mask, so I came up with 2 variations..

Hope you guys enjoy them! :)
