May the 4th LEGO [email protected] Deals: 10227 B-wing Starfighter 50% off

Postby Staff » Fri May 03, 2013 5:03 pm

Below is the list of LEGO Star Wars items on sale at LEGO [email protected] for May 4th and 5th. I would assume that the sale starts sometime tonight, like may 9pm Pacific/12midnight Eastern. The only really notable item for sale would be 10227 B-wing Starfighter at a whopping 50% off. The last UCS set to hit this kind of sale price early on its lifetime was 10215 Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter and we all know how bad that set sucked. The B-wing isn't nearly as terrible as that set but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the canopy piece that is common to both sets is cursed. Price of 10227 is $99.99 and you get the following bonuses with every [email protected] order that qualifies for the next two days:

- FREE Delivery on all orders of $50 or more.
- FREE Exclusive Han Solo minifigure with LEGO Star Wars™ orders of $75 or more (while supplies last).
- FREE limited edition Star Wars™ Yoda poster with all orders (while supplies last).

Most everything else is 10% off unless you've been saving up and waiting for a good time to load up on keychains. Now would be that time as they are 20% off.

Also, as a reminder, in case it hasn't been drilled into you by now, though not on sale, 10240 Red Five X-wing Starfighter goes on sale tomorrow. Price for that seet is $199 with free shipping, free Han Solo exclusive, and free Yoda Chronicles poster.

These deals are good for both US and CA customers. Enjoy:

Wow, if this turns out to be true, and Lego doesn't also update the AU price ( ... hter-10227), I'm gonna be livid. They really treat us terribly over here. The B Wing is AUD 350 vs. USD 200, and 1 AUD > 1 USD !!!! It's just mind-numbing. They legitimately claim that shipping is one of the major causes of the price different (they don't have AU warehouses), but I can single-handedly order from US store to a US address, and then pay the common-man shipping price (no corporate discounts) to ship it again from the US to Australia and STILL save a bundle. Why, Lego? Why?

I was able to order one before they sold out, advantages of being in the Afghanistan Time Zone. I thought about ordering two, but one it enough for me. I was rather surprised they sold out that fast. TLG should have restricted it to 1 per so more people could get them. At this point you have two options...either the Lego Store, or TRU since they price matched it.

I'll be sad!

^^Said reviews are a bit off, in my opinion. I thought it was a good build and definitely feels like a solid model. Looks great on display, and I would probably pay full price again. To claim it falls apart at the slightest touch is inaccurate and whiny, don't believe everything you read. If there are any left to be had at $99, it's a steal.
